Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe flavours of the evening meal were unfortunately left on the blackboard rather than delivered to the plate so supper was more 'sustenance' than anything memorable.
The standards at the Lamb Inn are very high indeed, from the heavy bath towels and complimentary robes, to the spicey 'Virgin Mary' mix with breakfast (there was even a bottle of vodka for those wanting an early zing with their muesli). The room was well-proportioned and quiet with a large bathroom on a split-level. Toiletries provided were sensational, as was the sunflower head shower. Beds were comfortable too. The breakfast was described as 'continental' but only the warm croissant hinted at anything other than the British at its best on St. Georges Day; fresh honey, yoghurt, toast, homemade jams and marmalade, individual rich butter, fresh fruit and cereal. Hot options were available for an additional cost. The staff were all charming and efficient. There is a cosy bar with locals and their dogs and a glowing log fire was set for early arrivals. Although the bar is very welcoming, be prepared to pay hotel prices for your drinks.

United KingdomThey advertised that breakfast was included in the price but when we went down for breakfast the only choice was continental breakfast without paying an additional charge of £6 to £12 for a cooked breakfast. I explained that this was not made clear on the website but they were not prepared to provide anything but the Continental Breakfast unless we paid extra. However, they did say they would alter the information on the website to make this clear in future but I see that this has not been done.
It was clean, warm and cosy. Charming place to stay.

Loved everything, location, drinks/food area in atmospheric gastropub. Great snacks, exactly what we wanted. Breakfast also easy+filling. Went for the more continental/muesli type of breakfast, can't wait to have the cooked one next time.

United KingdomThere was a perfectly adequate cold breakfast (croissants, cereal, toast, yoghurt, etc) but cooked breakfast was extra. This isn't a huge problem but it maybe should be made obvious on the listing so you can be fully informed before deciding to book or not. However, I might have missed that so apologies if I did!
We booked quite last minute for our stay but I had checked out the pub beforehand, the room was very sizable for the price we paid (I think the chap said we had been upgraded which was great!), the bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets and pillows. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. The staff were great, very helpful. We only stayed one night and checked in later in the day but we did enjoy a great dinner, lovely food with a different menu and great service. Thanks for making us so welcome.

United KingdomThe shower was in the bedroom rather than in a separate bathroom. This wasn't awful, just interesting.
Everything was wonderful and great value for money. We loved the food in particular - amazing food at dinner, and breakfast had great touches including make your own bloody Mary, and they let you swap out items on the hot food breakfasts. Would definitely stay again.

United KingdomOnly negative would be that the room I was in, 6, had the extraction system from the kitchen next to it. There was no smell, but the noise was noticeable as it constantly runs while the kitchen is open. I'm sure this only affects certain rooms though. Car park also quickly fills up, but you can normally find somewhere on the road.
Good decor and the bed was very comfortable, couldn't ask for more for £99. Food and drink is excellent in the pub, with polite and interested young staff taking care with you. Lovely to see a pub that has not had the heart ripped out of it and character kept in place.

United KingdomReally didn't not like anything but within the menu for evening meal, it may well add a couple of maybe simple dishes. Everything that we ordered was delicious and staff were all very attentive. We ate in the bar area as on that night, it was the warmest place to be but that may be because we were there mid week.
The breakfast was just what we ordered, very tasty with good produce. Staff member was very nice and friendly. Liked all the extra touches in room like scent sticks, coffee maker, nice linen, towels and shower/hair products too. Room was warm on arrival.. albeit small but with the touches, it all came together and nice and cosy.
