Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe mattress (cottage 2) was lumpy, old and supported underneath by an added wooden strut. It really needs replacing. Loo seat loose. The TV had to be retuned before we could use it, luckily we were able to do this ourselves. Unable to get hold of anyone by phone prior to arrival, which was a little frustrating.
Our accommodation was in a lovely little cottage, which I assume is part of a former stable block. It was quirky and characterful. Breakfast had fairly limited choice but was still very good. We arrived very early but our accommodation was ready and we were allowed to check straight in. Free onsite parking very convenient. All staff were pleasant and efficient. Superb location.

Location was excellent with car parking facilities that was needed, room was quite quirky but up lots of stairs, it is a really old building so this needs to be considered. We ate in the evening service and food were very good, breakfast was also of good standard

New ZealandWe couldn’t get wifi in our unit, we were in the courtyard at the back. We were able to use it in the restaurant though.
So close to the village centre, easy to find with parking. Very comfortable and great restaurant for dinner and there was a lovely breakfast included.

United KingdomThe only slight issues were - 1. The car park is small and space is tight. However parking is at a premium in Stow on the Wold so it was good to be able to park so close to our accommodation. 2. The cottage was lovely but the bathroom was downstairs off the lounge not off the bedroom (ensuite) which meant a trip downstairs to the bathroom in the night and to shower before going out in the evening. Also the ceiling on one side of the bed was very low so you had to remember to keep your head down when getting out of bed. The hotel do forewarn you in the booking confirmation to contact them if you have problems with steep stairs and/or low ceilings and I would urge you to do so if it is a major issue. It is just a characteristic of the age of the property and didn't detract from our enjoyment at all.
Right in the centre of Stow on the Wold which is a lovely town and very well placed for visiting other Cotswold villages. We stayed in one of the little cottages behind the hotel. It was spacious and quaint, clean and comfortable. There was a good choice for breakfast, fruit juice, cereals, yogurts plus a full English with vegetarian version available. It was served hot and was delicious. We also ate an evening meal at the hotel ( garlic bread ( huge) and fish chips and peas. Again both were served hot and were very enjoyable. The bar was busy in the evening with a nice ambience. Everywhere in town is within easy walking distance of the hotel.

United States of AmericaParking was a little tricky to access (extremely narrow entrance), although the spaces are off the road and very near the reception.
The hotel fulfilled all my booking requests (ground floor, walk-in shower, rooms close to each other). We stayed in the cottages, which are nicely appointed. The staff were friendly and the full English breakfast, which was included, was excellent. We also had dinner in the pub restaurant the night before. My husband loved the slow-roasted pork belly and I enjoyed my chicken, chorizo and garlic pie. And since it was Pie Day (Weds) I got a free drink! The hotel's location is also great - right on the market square. Parking is available at the rear.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. A good location for visiting similar towns in the cotswolds.

AustraliaThe stairs to the top floor were treacherous. I wasn’t able to carry my case up or down because I was concerned I would fall. My daughter carried it for me.
It was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the dinner and breakfast we had were delicious. The room was clean and modern.

United KingdomThe approach, steep stairs was a challenge! But we knew about it beforehand and were expecting it.
Location was very good. The breakfast which was part of the package was excellent, as good as we’ve had anywhere. Our room was excellent, comfortable and with the facilities we booked. It had an excellent view of the square. The staff at all times were helpful and friendly. The only drawback, though we had been warned, was the steep stairs up to that level. We were ok but coming down with bags was harder!

United KingdomThere was a small amount of noise which could be heard from the neighboruing room.
It was a very quirky place to stay. The bedroom was on upper (mezzanine) type area above the sitting area and bathroom. At first it seemed odd but actually was very comfortable and a pleasantly unusual arrangement. The location off the Market Square in Stow was excellent and we were able to walk around the twon easily from the Hotel. The breakfast too was excellent.

United KingdomThe reception entrance was so grubby we could not believe it was the right door in. And, although they forewarned me about the climb to the top floor, the last flight of stairs was really tough - very steep and narrow - when moving even a small suitcase up there.
Superb location with free on-site parking (a big plus). Lovely quaint but modern, well-appointed room with a good en-suite and all very clean. Excellent breakfast served by friendly and efficient staff.

United KingdomMy partner who is tall struggled a little with the top floor, low doorway where the steep steps led to room 10 but we managed.
Superb location, it’s an olde worlde place so expect wonky floors and walls, the top floors have very narrow and steep steps so if you have mobility issues please make sure your nearer the ground floor. Very clean, with everything we needed for a two day stay.
