Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere really is nothing to dislike but just be aware of quite a few steps leading to the front door and if you do struggle with stairs there is a room on the ground floor. I did notice there may be access from the side entrance without steps, this maybe worth mentioning when booking. A shelf in the shower for your soap etc would be helpful. Just observations and not dislikes.
Lovely B&B on the NC500. Nice location with plenty of farm animals nearby. The hosts were lovely and friendly, breakfast was great with a good choice and well cooked. The room was very nice and a nice comfy bed. Overall a very pleasant place to stay. I would not hesitate to recommend Cruachan Guest House.

United KingdomOverall no complaints, breakfast had hot options of porridge. Full Scottish/English would have been even better although we were very pleased with what was provided.
Very nice owner/manager. We even got a free room upgrade which was very nice. Location as expected.

Kenneth is a very good host. His property is very clean and well maintained. The bedroom was on the ground floor which was a happy thing for my knees. There is a large comfortable lounge to use. Breakfast was perfect. There is not much in the way of eateries around. We had a big lunch and took light snacks and a bottle of wine with us. Highly recommend a stay.

United KingdomThe guest house sign should be illuminated from the road as it was very difficult to find the property in the dark and rain otherwise it was perfect.
Very comfortable stay with a lovely breakfast,

United KingdomThe location was remote which made finding an evening meal rather a trek. Lochinver was the closest (25mins away) It would be best to mention this in details to enable forward planning.
Location in the mad wee road was very quiet. Breakfast was good and the room was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed. Comfy bed.

United KingdomIt was made clear in the booking info that no evening meal is available, so its best to eat somewhere before you arrive. There is nothing nearby, you probably dont want to venture out at night on the miles of single track roads.
Breakfast was very nice, the bedroom was fine.

The attention to detail by our lovely hosts, was very impressive, we were in a beautiful room with a super comfy bed, I had 7 hours uninterrupted sleep, first time in years! There were 2 tartan covered hot water bottles in a drawer just in case we got cold, wonderful. The breakfast was excellent too, just sad that we only stayed 1 night.

Kenneth was very welcoming and helpful on arrival. Our room was modern, warm and comfortable after a wet day in Scotland. Everything we needed was either in the room or provided on request. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of good quality products being provided. We're really glad we chose this location. We would highly recommend this B&B

We stayed for one night, while touring the Scottish highlands. Very nice and quiet location at the end of a spectacular single track drive. Owner gave recommendations for places to dine as there is nothing nearby. Rooms are cozy and nicely decorated and have nice bathrooms. We loved the Scottish breakfast!
