The stairs are a bit steep and narrow but the barman did carry one of my cases up to the room which was excellent

The stairs where cramped for carrying suitcases and where hard to navigate.

A clean room with some nice condiments, a comfy bed, the discount card and all in a central location.

It’s a walk up property with no elevators so this may be a problem for people with mobility issues.

Fantastic staff and the room was clean and well equipped.

A lot of narrow stairs to walk up with the suitcases, while it was close to the bar and restaurant it was very noisy until about midnight, okay for the one night we stayed

Nice place, over a bar so easy access to a drink, restaurants near by.

When morning came, gentleman was not there but 2 ladies offered to help with luggage. Another man came out of nowhere and yelled at us for “making” the women carry they bags. He was rude and extremely unprofessional. Don’t know who he was, but he really angered me.

Clean - great shower - accommodating. Gentleman who checked us I. Helped us with luggage up a long staircase. Said he would help again in the morning

It was mostly clean, but I had a few too many dead flies littered throughout the room. It was not a major issue, and most likely an outlier of an experience for this hotel. Limited food options close by - the area was a ghost town the next day (midweek) so you had a walk for early morning coffee/breakfast or wait until 9am for something on Oxford st.

I stayed here when I went to a gig at The 1865 so the location was great. I didn’t use the Pier but it’s close by so could be handy for that too. I was in a cosy little room with all the amenities for a 1 night stay. The staff that I dealt with were great and they offered discounts at the bar below.

Had to climb steep stairs and I'm no spring chicken but it was just a very minor inconvenience.

I loved this place. The staff were exceptionally nice and the hotel is small, old fashioned, there's a great pub downstairs. Pure British charm.

Nothing. Access up three flights of stairs would be impossible for those with limited mobility. No Breakfast.

Location on Oxford Street, very classy, full of boisterous pubs on a Saturday evening. Room was above a very busy, fun pub. Generous 10% discount on drinks for residents. Single room on the third floor at the back of the building was wonderful, tiny but every detail taken care of, kettle, water, tv etc. Surprisingly quiet given the pub's location, adequate shower in a nice bathroom. Hotel rooms in Southampton are very expensive at the moment £100 + , partially due to the rapid expansion of the cruise industry. Given that, the hotel was adequate value for money. Lots of choice for places to eat on Oxford Street. Weatherspoon's in Ocean Village, close by for those on a budget. Walking distance of the Isle of Wight ferries, town centre and some of the cruise terminals.
