Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff at breakfast were disinterested and distracted, the food was overcooked, for example the potato scones were that hard I couldn’t cut through them. On the second day of our stay I went up first and there were no plates, I finally managed to get someone’s attention who went to alert someone who then came out behind the counter and placed a pile of plates in the middle of the hot plates, this led to everyone (myself included) squeezing through the middle to get a plate then leaning over others to get food as there was no clear direction of travel, the tongs for lifting items were being used to pick up more than one item and were all greasy, there were also 3 sets on one tray. When my husband went up he was “told off” for using the tongs for the beef sausages to lift pork sausages or vice versa, this would have been understandable had the tongs been separated and clearly marked however that was not the case and they were being used for all items as noted above. The whole time I was there I only saw one person behind the counter and that was to lift plates, so it might be helpful to have someone overseeing the hot food and maybe plates at one side to give a clear direction of travel.
Beautiful hotel, perfect venue for a visit to Glasgow. Staff in reception were lovely and very welcoming. Staff in the Champagne bar were all lovely and the service there was excellent. Our room was lovely and we were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco and a lovely card from Kenan at the front desk wishing us a happy wedding anniversary. 😊 thank you so much for giving us another memorable anniversary.

United KingdomWhen my wife booked, the price included dinner and breakfast but when we arrived we were told we had a £40 voucher for dinner?!? This was never stated in the booking process. We were so disappointed when it turned out that ‘dinner’ was basically a bar menu in the champagne lounge or a very limited set menu. My wife had booked this for my 60th birthday so it was supposed to be special so when your told dinner is included you can imagine how disappointed she was that we weren’t receiving a nice dinner in a nice restaurant.
The room was lovely, nice and big, clean and cosy and the breakfast was good.

CanadaThere were quite a few homeless people outside the hotel and a lot of construction but this is not really the hotels fault.
The room was nice and big with tall ceilings and comfortable furnishings. The location is super convenient and staff was very friendly.

United KingdomBreakfast was a bit scrappy - delivery of hot drinks by staff may make it more efficient as long waits to use ten and coffee machines. Maybe a bigger room for breakfast too would work. Food was great though.

United KingdomNothing really comes to mind as everything I needed was available.
Being an old hotel, the rooms are of a very good size with high ceilings. The decor has been tastefully carried out with a lot of attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also of a good size with a shower mat provided for safety. I chose the hotel for its location and was pleased that there was direct access to Central station. Breakfast was excellent, although it is quite a walk from the main reception area of the hotel, but an enjoyable walk, giving time to take in the architecture of the building. I liked the theme of the bar and the fact it looked out directly onto the station concourse.
