Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMy only suggestion would be to put some coat hooks somewhere in the room, as there is nowhere to hang your outside coats.
The room has been refurbished and was lovely and clean. A good touch to have a bottle of water for each guest. Breakfast is good and freshly cooked to order. Food in the restaurant for dinner is always delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe only gripe from my stay which probably cant be helped was that even though I had had a lot to drink and usually sleep like a log! our room was right above the road and is quite busy with lorries during the night. It literally sounded like they were driving right past your head and we struggled to get decent sleep.
We booked last minute for a nearby wedding. We would be coming in late and were told how to get in and that we could help ourselves to milk from the fridges downstairs etc. It was a nice welcome :)

United KingdomThe second time i stayed this year. First time items added to my bar tab. Resent stay did not open a tab paid with a credit card. But on check out again some one put drinks on my room. Your system has no date or time of what was purchased. So I could not investigate.

United States of AmericaOur only complaint was our room felt very warm, even with the windows open. A fan would be nice.
Clean and attractively decorated interior. Great pub! One of our favorite accommodations during our 2 week tour of England and Scotland. Friendly staff and patrons!

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike.
Very dog friendly, food was excellent. The room had everything needed & the fact they included dog beds, bowls & treats was amazing. I loved the dog friendly seating which made us feel very relaxed knowing we were sat around other dog owners.

United KingdomThe room was quite warm whenever we’d enter it, meaning we’d need to open the windows (which were quite small) and shutters to get air circulating the room. It felt like it often took a while for the room to cool down to a comfortable temperature. The price of the food / drink and overall stay seem quite high (similar to London prices).
We booked the hotel for the weekend as we were we going to a wedding at a nearby venue. The location of the hotel was perfect - 5 minute walk from the wedding venue. The hotel felt very cosy and welcoming and had lots of charm about it. Our room has recently been refurbished so was very nice and comfortable to stay in. It was also nice and quiet - we were in room 4 at the back of the hotel, so didn’t hear any of the traffic noise outside. The food at breakfast was very very good, with a nice range of choice. The staff were also always very friendly and were happy to help with anything we asked for.

Staff extremely friendly, the building is undergoing renovations of all rooms however they went above and beyond to ensure our room was ready, free drink at the bar as we had to wait a few moments for them to make the bed, the breakfast was without doubt on of the best we have had.

United KingdomOnly a very small couple of niggles but nothing to actually complain about. Whilst there was a coffee machine in the room, there was no actual kettle to make a cup of tea with all the other nice tea and coffee making facilities provided. I made a cup of tea using the hot water from the coffee machine, but as most will know the water is never really that hot, plus there was bits of coffee sediment in the water i was using to make the tea! The shower is not very powerful, i wouldnt advise someone with a lot of hair to try and wash their hair in the shower.
This is a cosy country pub / hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We loved the warm atmosphere and the variety of real ales. Our evening meal was very nice and the breakfast was delicious. Again, lovely staff throughout each dining experience who are very happy to help. Can't fault anything. We have visited a few times now and its nice to see that there have been some upgratdes to the decoration etc. All very nicely done. Loved The White Company full size toiletries provided in the room. Even though the hotel is dog friendly, i wouldn't have known there had been any dogs in the room.

United KingdomNothing.
Everything wow. The decor, the staff, the room was beautiful, lovely little espresso machine in there too, very comfy bed, the food was fantastic, breakfast was exceptional. We usually stay at the Royal Oak down the road and we’ll never stay there again, so if you’re in between which one to choose, pay the little bit extra because it was well worth it. We stayed in Leeds at the Hilton for a few days prior, and this hotel made the Hilton look like a travelodge.

United KingdomThe bathroom in our room was very small.
Our room did need the refurbishment which is planned, but the beds were comfortable and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Evening meal was better on Monday night than on Sunday, when a number of the menu items were unavailable. The bar was lively and welcoming all day. This was particularly appreciated during the bad weather.
