View from room was someone’s else’s window. Layout of bathroom was odd - having to straddle the toilet to see yourself in the mirror was a test of agility ;)

There was a loud droning noise from outside my rooms window (it stopped by around 7pm but started again at around 7am). The hotel is undergoing some work so possibly it was to do with the workmen (I didn't enquire).

Clean, well presented accomodation with good facilities right in the heart of St.Ives town. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has a bar and restaurant with lots of options for food and drink.

We had breakfast at the hotel. There was only one lady on duty, (who was very friendly) she was serving breakfast, clearing tables and checking people out on the reception desk. The table we were given was very cramped and we asked if we could move to another table as there were lots of other tables and was told these were reserved. We had a long wait and during the time we were having breakfast no one sat at the reserved tables. Eventually the manager, who apparently was also on duty, came to help out.

Lovely hotel, nicely decorated with very clean and comfortable rooms. We had a meal at the hotel which was delicious. All the staff were very friendly.

The sound insulation was poor, so that we could hear the radio/TV go on in the room below, the street noise outside, especially when the market set up early in the morning and the pigeons roosting on the bars outside the windows. The room was chilly at times and the supplementary oil heater had to be plugged in to provide an adequate temperature for the evening in the room.

The space was splendid and the the bed was really comfortable with a firm mattress. Tea and coffee making facilities were good with a good choice of teas. The bathroom was clean and spacious and the kickboard lights under the basin were convenient for night-time. The oil heater in the room was useful one chilly evening in view of the radiators being turned off (our stay was during May).

Overwhelming heat in room - couldn't sleep & felt dehydrated in spite of drinking 2 litres water & keeping fan on all night .

Surprisingly large sized room . Comfortable bed . Good hot shower . Helpful staff kept me supplied with bottled water - see below . Enjoyed restaurant ambience & good menu choices .

Convenient in centre but a bit noisy at night; people literally stood under window talking and falling out. Room very warm so needed to open windows. No hair dryer. Water from shower went everywhere.

There was a fire alarm early morning on the Saturday and when my husband went down to find out what was going on, he was told there was a fault and it is happening regularly. It would have been nice to have known about this, instead of panicking when it went off.

Location is perfect. Right in the centre of town. Unfortunately there is no parking. Room was big and comfortable. There wasn’t a window except the skylight and I struggled to open the blind on this. The building is lovely, with nice furnishing. Staff were friendly. Breakfast wasn’t included so we paid for that but was one price for whatever you selected, £15, so you could have had a full English or just a sausage sandwich and it was the same price. I would definitely stay again.
