Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot one thing. The best!
Karen, the house, the food and the location were all just exceptional! What a great stay- really couldn’t have been any better! Karen made us an absolutely divine traditional Scottish breakfast that was “to die for delicious-farm to table quality, and the portions were just perfect. The shower was so delightful and plenty of hot water and the bathroom was clean , as well as the spotless rest of the house. Beautiful bookcases filled with books about the area and Scottish magazines and most of all the beds were comfy! Karen was a wonderful host we enjoyed her company at breakfast- super fun to talk to! We would definitely come back and stay with Karen here again! A+++. Directions were easy and perfect.

ItalyJust a few minutes from the city centre, this lovely flat is in a quiet and cozy residential neighbourhood. Perfect for a break if you are constantly backpacking and moving across the highlands. Karen welcomes you with all suggestions about the area and what is worth visiting. I hardly recommend to have at least one meal cooked by her as she is part of the slow food movement. You will be so pleased with what she puts together for a nice meal. Another plus for the Italians. Karen lives in Italy so if you struggle with the language she can help you out and makes you feel like home.

United KingdomNo television. Lacks a bit of privacy. Bed rooms could do better with a chair and dressing table. A few more toiletries could help better. A bit disappointed in the absence of Cranachan for breakfast, which I was looking forward to.
Clean & new appartment. Delicious & variety breakfast. Karen was quite helpful and welcoming. She helped us to plan the Inverness stay. She was always available for any needs of ours promptly. She guided us to select the travel routes which are quite refreshing and exhilarating for the soul. Comfortable mattress. Easy access to the electrical charging pods in the neighborhood tesco. Location is quite inviting coz of neighborhood tescos, asda and gaming centre.

United StatesKaren is the perfect hostess and her home a lovely sanctuary. Karen communicated from initial booking through checkout. She helped us navigate the local bus routes, offered tips, created delicious meals and we had fun conversations. Karen even dropped us off at the bus station for the next leg of our journey. We would definitely stay with Karen again.

United StatesParking was a challenge. It was a good thing we had a small car.
It was very comfortable and relaxing. Two private bedrooms, bathroom and sitting room. Plenty of room for luggage. Karen is a wonderful hostess. The food she prepared was delicous and she offered the opportunity to try new things. Her knowledge of Scotland and tips of places to see was very helpful.

United KingdomWe had a fantastic stay with Karen this weekend. She went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Breakfast was great, wish we had booked dinner also as Karen is a brilliant chef. She also gave us a lift to the centre when a taxi let us down. The accommodation is spacious and very clean. A gem in the Highlands and we will definitely return!

Not what you normally expected from a B&B, more of a house with a WOW factor and breakfast and/or dinner as extras when requested. Very suitable for a family. Karen who was warm & welcoming, made our stay very personalised.

United KingdomSpotlessly clean, pleasant and comfortable spaces and a lovely warm host. Two good size bedrooms and a good living space made a for a comfortable stay for four, and there was a playpark for the kids a couple of minutes walk away. We opted for breakfast and they were exceptionally tasty and my kids fussy eating habits were happily accomodated. This may not be a plus for everyone, but the neighbour's cat paid a visit and quite frankly it made my kids holiday.

United KingdomReally wonderful stay! The property was clean, well-equipped and comfortable, and Karen was lovely!! She was very responsive and accommodating when we were running late to check in, and she provided us with everything we could need for our short stay. The breakfast she made us the next morning was also the best we had - extremely fresh and delicious! Karen was also kind enough to offer us advice and recommendations for our time in the highlands, including a suggested route to Skye with delicious food stopovers. Will definitely stay again on our next visit!
