Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was an accommodation request because we requested no stairs due number of luggages we had. This was in the back of the building that had been updated and the room had the essential items you may need. The only inconvenience was that you needed to go through the gravel parking area with the luggage but once you got to the entrance, there were only 2 steps to get in. It was small but clean and the bathroom had a wonderful updated shower. There’s a small lobby, but during check in and check out times, seating may be a challenge, although I was always able to sit.
The staff is absolutely outstanding and very accommodating. They go out of their way to assist with your needs. I’m so happy in our reservation we opted to include breakfast, it was very good and varied for different taste pallets! The hotel is very centrally located and we were able to walk back from the Titanic museum and the restaurant that is open from Monday to Friday, not only is it convenient but very good food. It had the feel of an intimate pub. It had a great variety of beers and wine and also stocked with liquor as well. We were only able to have dinner on Friday, September 20, of our 3 night stay. The B&B is relatively close to the train station (around 30 minute walk) and you are able to walk to a small market and area restaurants (not fancy). We took a taxi to the train station and on the way back we started with a taxi, but the traffic was so bad we got off and walked back to the hotel. We probably got back sooner than if we would have had we stayed in the taxi.

United KingdomSome of the decor was a bit old and some of the paintwork needed touching up in places. The EV chargers weren't working which was very annoying as we drive a fully electric car and I specifically booked this hotel so that we could charge the car. I tried to check in advance that the chargers were available and working but the staff member didn't know how to check. They offer parking for cruise passengers but it wasn't made very clear that they provide a shuttle to and from the cruise terminal.
The staff were all lovely. Very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. Overall the room was absolutely fine, clean and comfortable with plenty of space in the accessible bathroom. The room was very conveniently located for disabled people. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

United KingdomThe noise coming from staff starting work in the kitchen underneath our room before 6am!. I realise staff have a job to do, however please be mindful of guests sleeping, in particular with hot weather, no air con requiring windows to be open.
Excellent location for the cruise terminals and University. Very friendly and helpful staff, who in the main really tried to make our experience a good one. Just be aware that there is no lift, so if you have difficulty with heavy cases, request a ground floor room. Breakfast, although rather chaotic, the food was well cooked, hot and of excellent quality. Excellent dinner menu. The room was adequate. However, although prepared for a busy road, we were not prepared to be woken at 6am with staff talking, doors banging and plates rattling in the kitchen below. If you have the chance, avoid room 8. This was a shame because I really wanted to like this hotel. Unfortunately, this spoilt our stay.

United KingdomMinor snags in the room; wobbly chair legs, toilet flush needed attention, extractor fan worn out and extremely noisy. Rather over priced for a two night B&B stay.
Staff pleasant and attentive. Very helpful in all matters. Location to docks where Waverley berthed. Room quiet despite hotel being on main road.

The young lady doing reception, breakfast, etc, was exceptional. Forgot to get her name. Usual English house. Creaky floors, old staircases to lug your cases up. Overall, nice place.

Very pleasant stay. Helpful staff. Good location, a 20 minute walk from the city centre. Excellent value for money. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Able to park on-site. Good tea and coffee in the room, with biscuits. I didn't eat at the hotel, but the food smelled good!

SwitzerlandThe bathing arrangements in one of the bathrooms (room at the back of the house) were inconvenient: free-standing tub in the middle of the floor, without plug (so no bath possible), and no convenient shower gel / shampoo (was attached to the wall above the sink). Couldn't manage to use the shower head to wash without getting the floor at least a bit wet. Looks lovely but not practical when there's no plug for the bath. The door locks were a bit challenging. Google maps kept leading us astray.. not the hotel's fault but was annoying.
Spacious bathrooms. Bedroom at the front of the building was spacious and well furnished (bedroom at the back was smaller). Ample parking, once you understand the system. Reached out prior to arrival to ask if we wanted a dinner reservation.

Falkland Islands (Malvinas)It was advertised with parking however the car park was over full and guests were asked to double park. Not ideal if you don't intend to leave before the person parked behind you. Hair dryers aren't in the rooms you have to collect it from reception, which I wasn't aware of until out of the shower in the morning having to walk to reception and get it. No iron or ironing board in room, requested from reception and it never showed up. The pics online definitely were not what we arrived to.
