Late access code for entry to car park after hours.

Ollie was extremely accommodating when I was stuck in London and needed to make arrangements for a late arrival, allowing a colleague to collect my key on my behalf.

The lighting in the bathroom was quite dim. But that could be my age!

The check in was very smooth, there is free parking on site which is helpful. The staff were very pleasant. We had a lovely big room which was very clean. The bathroom was nice and clean. And we had breakfast where there was a great choice of options.

Breakfast service is very slow and not that great. Evening Menu has been the same for over a year needs to be more of a selection and light meals and sandwiches available after 5pm.

We were in the stable block of the hotel, the room was quite nice apart from the very small window that couldn’t be opened. Plus it was very noisy.

Close to the rail station and the market place of Newbury, with restaurants and shopping.

We have stayed in the hotel for a number of years but it is starting to look a bit tired. Bedroom carpets are starting to look bare and it is difficult to open windows. No bath mat meant we had to use a towel on the floor. Bath is quite high and less mobile people might find it difficult climbing in and out of.

Deluxe rooms are very large. Bed was enormous and very comfortable. Bathroom is nice and clean. The location is perfect and in the town centre of Newbury. Ideal for Newbury racings

I unexpectedly needed to give a lift to someone late and the pub was closed and no-one to let me back into the car park, so I had to pay for a local car park overnight. Next morning they said they don’t give out the code for the car park routinely only if you ask - but they were closed when I would have needed to ask. They also were not willing to reimburse my overnight car parking fee. If they had done that automatically I would have given a higher rating.

Good central location, a bit noisy due to nearby main road by they do provide ear plugs. Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom.

Rotten wooden bath mats which leave puddles of water on the bathroom floor. (Cotton bath mats please). Sticky dining room tables.

It is a quaint old 17th century coaching inn turned into a bar and hotel. Food is good and the location is superb. Beds are comfortable.

The room was a nice size as we booked the larger family suite but as it was facing the main street it was very noisy. People congregated outside at 3.45am every evening as I believe the Bar nearby was open until 3.00am. The old style windows did not keep out any of the noise. Unable to open any window in the bathroom.

The hotel is central and convenient for Newbury Race Course. Plenty of Bars and Restaurants close by. The staff were very helpful and welcoming.

Miserable reception by a man who was totally disinterested in us. Dingy lighting in the room and particularly in the bathroom (light missing above bathroom mirror) leaving one dull bulb Only one small window. Felt like you were in a dungeon .

Quite difficult to find how to get into the car park as we didn’t know Newbury at all.

Located conveniently for us to attend a wedding outside Newbury. Quirky decor in some of the rooms. Exceptionally friendly and efficient service from the young lady who checked us in and even served our breakfast.
