It was cheap, and basic, it's Blackpool, few drinks in and doesn't matter what it looks like to me. It was 16 quid, it had a bed, suited me, did the job, the staff was friendly. I'd stay again.

This is in no way a complaint, we get what we pay for and 76 for two nights. We just wanted beds the rest of the time we was out on adventures. I wouldn't say the driftwood is a family hotel! There was loud music, a fresh smell of weed and it was noisy! Some residents didn't seem to show any consideration for the multi occupancy residents. Drumb and bass music was blasting, we was woken at 12.30am and again at 5.30 am it was LOUD .. both nights where the same. Drinkers returning at all hours very loud. If you have toddlers or small children/babies I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Stag parties, hen parties, youngsters it's ideal .. but wouldn't clasify it as a "family" hotel. Decore and maintemce was very dated, but it smelt clean and fresh. The noise from other residents coming in at all hours drunk may be a struggle for families with small children. My grandchildren are 6 and 8 we made it work. Yes there was noise but tbh as said its not ideally a family hotel. This isn't a complaint at all you get what you pay for. We had a fantastic weekend and the driftwood was somewhere warm to sleep .. it does what it says on the tin.

Ok so I'm going to try and be fair, I was with my two grandchildren, my daughter was in hospital, and I took my grandchildren away for the weekend to take their mind of the worry. I booked the cheapest hotel on booking.com. the hotel receptionist was lovely, very friendly, there is parking out front for two cars and she allowed me to park diagonally the first night as she wasn't expecting any further gets. So my car could fit as its quite big and overhung on the pavement. The room was basic!! Very basic, but smelt clean. My grandchildren loved having bunk beds, we was free to come and go as we pleased. My granddaughter who is 8 said nan we have a roof over our head and we are warm and that pretty much summed up the driftwood. It's no frills but if you just want a bed for the night, it's suitable. The heating was on and we was warm and comfortable.

The keys I was given a set of 3 keys. The only one that was marked did nothing to my knowledge, and the other 2 unlocked separate doors. It was impossible to tell which key was for which door. The doors The front door of the building I slept in was really confusing. The lock didn't do a full 360 when being unlocked, and there was no audible click to signify it either, which made me think the lock was broken until I looked more closely. If I had done this drunk or sleep deprived, I probably would've given up. My room door was basically the same, except the lock was upside down for some reason. The room I didn't know what I expected when going into the room for the first time. The size did surprise me, but that wasn't an issue. The thing I hated the most was the light, as it was way too bright, and the shade was full of holes by design. It didn't work for me, and it was a bit distracting when reading a graphic novel. If there was an option to dim the light, a more enclosed shade, or just a small lamp for nighttime reading, that would make the room work for me. The communal toilet There was no toilet paper in the evening and the next morning, so when cleaning up, I had to use water from the tap, and I made sure not to use the hand for anything until i cleaned it properly. I couldn't properly clean up in the driftwood because there was no hand soap either, and I didn't think to bring any as I thought it was a given. Checkout I do not understand why the checkout time is 10am, that is just too early. I essentially panicked when I woke up at 6 and started drifting back to sleep and had to ditch plans to go out that night in fear of missing the deadline. Because my room was in the building next door, I didn't have access to actually drop the room key in the labelled box and it was about 9:58 by the time a staff member opened the door for me so I could give them to her, it didn't make me feel right.

The bed was comfortable and cosy (contrasting most hotels I've slept in), and honestly, I had a better sleep than I usually do in my own bed. The only downside was the lack of pillows for a double bed (2 instead of 4), although I booked the room for 1 person, so I'm going to assume that was why.

Only met staff when we arrived no other interaction, the shower was hanging off the wall, tv remote didn't work and no offer of clean towels or extra toilet rolls, we booked 2 nights at first but extended a further 2 nights before arrival. Unfortunately I won't stay there again even though location was great

Location was ideal and price reasonable for the room.

Security, security is a major issue, I was on the toilet, a guy pulled the door really heavy handedly the lock was just a home lock, it just popped and snapped and the door was open, this could have been a child or women showering.

The staff, great, could be called on at any time, and he was happy to help, couldn't be more helpful..

TV didn't work, the nearest window for the room we stayed in was the bathroom and it was very small

The staff was very welcoming, location was okay. For the price we paid for 2 night nothing really to complain about, would recommend mainly for anyone just wanting to relax after a few drinks.
