The pillows weren't very comfortable but that's all!

The staff were absolutely lovely ! We liked the pub too and enjoyed the evening meal we had. It's well placed in the town within easy walking distance of some really interesting sights, such as the castle, museum and the priory.

TV was on the wall but was at right angles to both the bed and the sofa. Still watchable - just about! Pillows were horribly soft. It would be nice to have a choice

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room looked recently refurbished, was large and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean. Location is perfect and wasn't too noisy even on a Bank Holiday weekend

The room had an extra bed in it, don't remember that being listed when we booked it. No hair dryer in the room, the mirror in the bathroom was too far away to do makeup. There is a mirror in the room, but only two working light bulbs - made it a little bit hard to see anything. Very thin duvet on the bed. The batteries in the remote need replacing. The toaster in the breakfast room might need to be looked at too - was ok the first two mornings, although quite squeaky, on the third morning it burnt the bread on one side.

Location is great, staff are friendly and helpful. Best beer in the town :-)

Our room could have benefitted from some shelving in the bathroom, there was nowhere to put tooth brushes or wash bag. All beautifully clean though!

Very good location for the town centre. Staff were polite, friendly and unobtrusive. Breakfast was adequate, continental style.

The bathroom needs a renovation: the shower didn't work properly, and the silicone was getting dark from the mold, and the shower frame was moving.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and good location.

Breakfast was appalling. Coffee was undrinkable, only milk option was skimmed, warm yogurt, defrosted white bread, (no brown) poor jam. In a town with four or five of the best bakeries I’ve seen in a long time it could be so much better at little or no extra cost.

Excellent size rooms which were well equipped and very comfortable. Pub is in a quiet road with little traffic close to town.

We had room three which seemed to be above toilets as the hand dryer went off a lot underneath. This was fine for us as we were out all evening but bear in mind if you are hoping to get an early night! It is a pub at the end of the day! Although they have a big covered area outside for smokers, throughout the afternoon the room really started to smell of cigarettes. Due to the pub having a roadside entrance, people still must have been nipping out to smoke under our room. We just had to close the window and adjust the heating temperature. You can’t control where people smoke so not the pubs fault! The shower also had a constant drip but I just put the shower head on the shower tray so we couldn’t hear it trickle.

Good value for money. The room was spacious, had lots of nice touches like bottled water, biscuits, lavazza coffee pods, nice smelling shower gel and shampoo. The room had everything you could need. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast (muffins, pastries, cereals, yogurts, fruit, toast, juice and hot drinks). They had a fan in the room and you could turn the radiators up or down as needed.

The only downside was the noise from the pub below until closing, but you can't expect more given that it is a pub! Bed was basic but comfortable enough for one night.

Really friendly staff. Room was clean and tidy and I had everything I could need. Amazing value for a 1 night stay. Breakfast included but on a weekend times were 9am onwards. I needed to be out by 8.45am so the staff accommodated this. Thank you!

    Nothing worth complaining about.

This old hotel is first up a great pub. The antique timber bar is a wonderful piece if work. The staff are friendly, and the beer is good. Our room was spacious and comfortable as well as being quiet. The Dorset was perfectly placed for the start of our nine day walk on the old pilgrim way to Canterbury. A goodbreakfast set us on our way.
