The hotel should tell customers that breakfast is £8.50 if bought in advance but goes up to £10 if you pay on the day.

Staff at the reception was on the phone with someone else on my arrival, but that's OK. He finished the phone call, and before checking me in, he was on the phone with someone else and made me stay there, waiting for him to finish. The room was with some kind of splashes in the wall, so I didn't know what it was. The beds are very uncomfortable. Breakfast.. horrific, I asked for some ketchup, and it had such a weird taste. There's nothing good about it.

The outside of the hotel could be improved; flower beds tidied up and new masonry paint applied.

    Most things were fine.

Our room was a little cramped, and in need of a paint. The outside of the hotel is also in need of some TLC

Breakfast was good. Impressed with the provision of gluten free products.

The hotel rooms are in poor condition and the hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The carpet was dirty and marks up the walls. There were cracks in the side panel of the bath etc etc. That said, the bath towels were clean and fluffy and the bedding was clean and bed was comfy. We didn't pay much for the room and you do get what you pay for. If I was in the area again I would consider staying as the location is good, food and staff are brilliant. Just be mindful if you book it that it does need some TLC. It would make a fantastic boutique hotel.

Hotel is in a great location and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a cooked breakfast on both mornings which was good value and ate in the restaurant for one meal. The meal was really nice and good value for money.

We had food in the restaurant which wasn't good and had to send back. Ordered something else which was poor also. I wouldn't eat again in the restaurant. The staff was very good although. Breakfast was ok. The decor is tired and dated and this is why the price is good I should say.

    Great location for the punchbowl.

The hotel is very tired and the rooms have seen better days. It really needs a total refurbishment. All the floors and stair cases are very creaky. Its very reasonably priced though. Could do with a good litter pick and tidy up outside to make it more presentable.

The breakfast was superb. Very well cooked, tasty, filling, great quality and hot. The location of the hotel is wonderful. Just next to lovely walks by the Devils Punchbowl

It's a little tricky location if you're not travelling by car, which we weren't.

The room was nice and clean, bed very comfortable. We also ate in the restaurant twice and food was lovely. They had just released a new menu.
