Upstairs the bedrooms are form over function trying to keep with the theme " Alice in Wonderland" initially it all seems quite quirky but then you find the furniture is inadequate, our bed was a nightmare to get in and out of just too high with thick wooden rim around the mattress. No mirror on the dressing table and no where to sit in the room at all !! Furniture is recycled and painted to a theme which is great but way too big for the room. The bed side lights were behind the bed headboard so couldnt reach them which meant walking back to the door to switch lights on and off, not ideal fumbling your way back to the bed in the dark. The tv remote had some faulty buttons, hard to change channels. The view from the window would have been nice but couldnt see it as the double glazing was blown and windows full of water. Bathroom again bit dated, shower over bath and no grab rails very dangerous, shower worked in a fashion. Was clean though and all usual soaps available

The hotel has everything you could need downstairs, great bar and food, breakfast was amazing, loads of comfortable seating and the decor us a feast for the eyes. Parking is plentyful and safe

We stayed in the Alice in the wonderland room which was thoughtfully decorated with Alice memorabilia. The teacups attached to the ceiling was an impressive touch. Definitely worth a visit :)

We generally had a lovely stay though do have minor suggestions. The bathroom could have done with a bathmat, and a blind for the window in the hallway (was woken up by sunlight at 5am - hadn’t thought to close internal door). I also would suggest a lamp for the room, as the big light was too bright and the bedside lights barely made a difference. These things don’t detract from a great stay though!

Really loved the theme and attention to detail, staff were super lovely, handbook had all the info needed. Booking and key handover all seamless. The breakfast was also tasty and made to order! Would stay again - I don’t think the novelty would wear off! We really liked that we could connect our phones to the telly so could watch Alice in Wonderland from our own Disney+ subscription. The written signs everywhere were informative but also hilarious - for example ‘slow motion lift experience’. Wish we had remembered to buy a tiny AiW door!! Sorry about the croissant mess in the morning 😯😯

Reception wasn’t manned most of the time.

It was located in a nice quiet area, the staff were very friendly, and the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. I loved the quirky, Alice in Wonderland decorations, which were well thought through and popped up all over the place. On several occasions, I was hooting with laughter.

Not a dislike but the 4 mannequins in reception last year looked way better but that’s just our preference.

Our room The Book Room was amazing. Have stayed before and would stay again. The main reception has changed since we last came have to admit we preferred how it looked last year as it felt a bit odd walking g in to face the back of a huge sofa this time. Could access the games room either.

Not a dislike, but if you're planning on walking into Skegness centre with small children it can be quite a walk for them (or you if you end up carrying them,) but the hotel itself more than makes up for this.

Really nice hotel with friendly staff. The Alice in Wonderland theme is really fun my daughter loved all the decorations around the hotel

The detail of ‘ Alice in wonderland ‘ in all of the hotel was absolutely amazing !! I’ve never seen such a passion for a theme before. Our bedroom absolutely beautiful. We stayed over when there was a band on in the bar and enjoyed our time relaxing. Truly a great place 🙏

Would have liked more of a character themed room, rather than just themed communal areas. In bathroom, there were lots of holes in wall where a towel rail must have been removed. Nowhere to hang towels or clothes in bathroom.

Theme of hotel was good. Room was clean. Location good - close to beautiful Gibraltar Point and wildlife reserve. Plenty of hot water for bath.

A little more care on the bathroom cleaning would be good, mucky floor round edges and mould around bath taps. Bed was big, but a thin mattress not the comfiest.

Friendly welcome, quirky decor and plenty of parking. Good value, nice spacious room. Great TV with Netflix. Loved the Alice theme and all the little bits and bobs.
