We had a one night stay for a wedding nearby. Lovely location, perfect for our needs. Clean, comfy and spacious family room. Delicious breakfast.

Compared to other overnight accommodation along the Offa's Dyke Path it was expensive for a basic and rather dated room.

It had all the essential facilities for a walker doing the Offa's Dyke Walk, and the dinner and breakfast were good.

The Crown Inn has plenty of character. We were amused by the flat screen tv. So tiny but the landlord was brilliant putting large tv on in games room for us to watch World Rugby match.

We were attending a wedding so Crown Inn was 5mins away from venue. Good evening meal and lovely breakfast.

Comfortable stay, great location for a wedding we attended at Lower House Farm. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and the cooked breakfast was very nice. Beautiful views of the mountains. The family room was very spacious.

The rooms could do with a bit of an update

Really helpful staff and clean rooms. Half of our party were delayed arriving but the staff were very accommodating regarding the evening meal.

Our bathroom had a bath only, no shower, but that's about it. A few things in the room were broken, wonky or otherwise worn but it didn't matter much.

Smooth arrival process, a good size room, and very quiet even though it was fully booked. The breakfast facilities were lovely and we felt very looked after first thing in the morning! Good amount of parking as well.

The food was delicious and generous. The service was lovely. Very friendly . Very family. Not posh but comfortable and welcoming. Lovely hot showers and very comfortable beds

Unable to get wifi

Staff very welcoming, nothing to much trouble. Organised taxis and even dropped us at a venue personally. Served drinks and did not feel rushed to leave even though last in the bar. Warm welcoming staff at breakfast again nothing to much trouble. Perfect stay for walkers beautiful area.

A bit of TLC required in some areas. Attempted to use the disabled toilet for convenience but it was full of equipment and “stuff”. that said you Pat for what you get so for some this will be perfect and for others it won’t quite hit the mark.

Brilliant stop for a couple of bikers touring Wales. Great to have food and a bar onsite and easy to chill out after a long day on the bike. Food was great both at evening meal and breakfast so well done to the team.

Wifi is inexistent in the Hotel Room and you only get signal in the dining area. They have different passwords around the Hotel till you find the right one in the dinning area almost giving up that you will have connectivity. There is no one receiving you or helping you when you arrive in spite you establish what is your check in time and there is no one to contact in case of an emergency as the Wifi doesn't work in the rooms. The shower didn't work and I requested to have the breakfast at 8:00 am and when I came down there were not there and I had to serve the coffee myself. Staff did help me at 8:20 but I had to leave. I am surprised Hay Festival recommends this place as is far away from the festival. In the Hotel description they say they will help you find a taxi but I had to do it myself with very little connectivity. They also mention flat tv but is a tiny tv and I had to request for a control. I am also surprised Booking. Com and the Hotel charged my complete card before I left the Hotel. I had to leave for an emergency on the second day of my stay and I was charged full price until Booking was able to convince them to give me back some money. Charging the full price was surprising for me as always the Hotels charge the card once you leave and I had requested to pay in the Hotel but as is so informal they decided to charge before I even arrived. Not very good from Booking or the Hotel. At the end I did get some money back but the location is not for people alone and there is not enough or right information in what is promoted in Booking.

Staff is very sweet and kind. I had dinner and was lovely. The room was very quiet and had a good bed. If you like quiet far away places this is the right place. Is very lovely Welsh inn but is not close to anything and may be fun for walkers or bikers. Is also romantic and may be worth for people going up Black Mountain.
