Nothing really to complain about. The locals in the premises were accommodating and chatty and made you feel welcome. Bedroom and bathroom adequate for the two of us. Continental breakfast isn't for everyone but you'll find something I m sure.

Easy to find with sat nav. Easy to park. Lovely welcome and were shown where everything was. The Dinner menu was very good and cooked well.

There was nothing not to like except maybe the climb to the top floor so for those with mobility problems speak to them in advance.

Dinner was lovely but didn’t expect the service charge. Breakfast was plentiful but very much DIY. Room was quiet, comfortable and clean.

We really loved the room, very clean light airy and spacious and well serviced. The staff were warm and welcoming and the food and atmosphere in the bar very good. The location is great for surrounding attractions but quiet and friendly. We will definitely return.

I'd welcome a better choice of pillows - both were too high for me but it's a minor issue. And the blind was broken, which was a shame because the view from the window was really something.

Fantastic hosts, couldn't do enough for you! The room was quirky and full of character. Very comfortable and big enough bed to sleep 2 adults and one child - the extra bed was also provided, but our litttle man wanted to stay close :)

The staff were incredibly helpful. They really went out of their way to accommodate me despite crazy work schedules meaning I was eating late. The food is really excellent and accommodation exceptional value.

The manager was very welcoming and helpful. The evening meal was very good. Breakfast was help yourself and sufficient for our needs. If I was being picky a cooked breakfast option would have been nice. But we really did enjoy our stay and would readily return again.

Minor issues really: Parking somewhat limited. Rooms are above the bar, so you can hear noise from below; it wasn't an issue for us but could be for those needing an early night.

Excellent location for Canons Ashby. Really good home cooked food in the restaurant. Really good value. Nice room.

From opening the front door to enter the property, there was a warm and welcoming feel. A log fire was burning in the fireplace, and great food was on offer. The room was a similar treat - clean, warm & welcoming.

Parking and entrance weren’t clear, pub wasn’t open at 4pm when check in was available from so we had to call and they unlocked the door for us, no sign or anything to make this clear, a small notice by the door would be really helpful. Check out also not clear as no staff members seen at breakfast or when wanting to leave. Breakfast was okay, self-serve selection. Fruit was very soft so not sure how long it had been there but most of the other options were very nice. We had dinner in the pub which was quite expensive and service on the slower side but it was very nice. Lovely room but minor cleaning issues such as stains and dust.

Bedside light was dim and main light kept flickering. Found dinner on the expensive side. No staff at breakfast so was too afraid to use the egg boiler.

Dinner was good quality. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room wad huge and the bed really comfortable. Great bathroom with bath and shower and good toiletries. Good choice at breakfast

The staff were fantastic and definitely made the trip - all so welcoming and friendly. The bed was super comfortable and very big, the shower was lovely. The food was delicious, on the pricier side (more expensive than restaurants in the city we had travelled from) and service charge of 12.5% added on to the total bill. Where I would usually prefer the option of paying service charge, the staff made such efforts that we didn’t mind paying. The bar had an open fire and log burner which give it a warm cosy feel. The continental breakfast was fine, cereals, bread, spreads, eggs to cook and cheese. More left out the second morning, avocados, fruit for cereal, freshly squeezed orange juice and offers of americancos / lattes etc. The Northamptonshire countryside is picturesque, and whilst I grew up near by, we explored villages I’d not been familiar with. Lots of wildlife around, birds and deers, and we also saw a couple of Llamas in a field on the outskirts of the village. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so lovely!
