Comfortable and suitable for a one nights stay close to where I needed to be.

The location and accommodation were acceptable - the rooms fit the location/ building but not what I am looking for on a business trip. I also thought the price high. In fairness however it was the average for the area.

Location was perfect for my trip. The food and service in the restaurant was great. I liked the breakfast box they offered as I was leaving before they could serve me.

Beautiful place to stay, comfortable and well thought out accommodation. Room was cosy and decorated to a high standard. Thoughtful and considerate also as had a good size fridge in the bedroom and proper milk and a lovely bottle of cold water ready on arrival. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff.

Our only criticism is the poached eggs at breakfast, sadly they were over cooked and tasted quite strongly of vinegar. Everything else was lovely though. Excellent produce and a lovely choice.

Another amazing visit. This place is so beautiful. The food is delicious, behind the bar you have Mark who is great at what he does, he’s also pretty hilarious! I wish I could remember the girls name behind the bar, she also was brilliant. I think maybe her name was Niamh? We had a great time and very much look forward to coming back soon.

We were met warmly and shown straight to our lovely room. We then spent the evening having a lovely meal end enjoying the bar (and losing in the rugby!). We were leaving early the next morning, so missing the main breakfast service, but were able to pre-order hot rolls to take away, which were ready perfectly on time, and delicious. Really conscientious service throughout our short stay, and we'd love to visit again.

We both found the mattress a bit uncomfortable, which is unusual for us, but that small thing was off set by everything else which we loved.

A beautiful coaching inn with tasteful, in keeping en-suite bedroom with a touch of elegance. Lovely to have a cushioned window seat, an extra furry throw if needed, wicker baskets on the bed holding fluffy white towels, environmentally friendly, quality toiletries in the bathroom (full to leave, not take away sizes), fresh milk and water in the fridge. Not a large room, but cosy and comfortable with floorboards slightly warped with age. Excellent breakfast pre-ordered for a set time, from a good choice, but a breakfast basket option offered if you wanted a lie in past 9 am (weekdays). Big choice of lunch and dinner items. Superb Ploughman’s Platter at lunch with dill pickles and piccalilli so good we wish we’d asked the make. A lovely treat to get liver and onions in the evening, rarely seen on menus these days. A very relaxing ambiance in the oak beamed restaurant and lovely, helpful, staff.

    Nothing I didn't like

Really loved this pub B&B, I wish I had stayed two nights here rather than spending the previous one in the centre of Dorchester. It was the little things that made it for me - very modern country decor, fresh milk and cold water in the fridge, they use refillable Faith in Nature products - very little plastic waste gets a big thumbs up from me. Lovely soft towels, modern ensuite and a very comfortable bed. They have made an effort with decent secondary glazing to keep out the road noise, and it is a very quiet road other than first thing in the morning. The breakfast was ordered the night before which I don't mind in a small place like this, and the local meat for the full english was very tasty

Food was amazing, so fresh, as much as possible organic from their own gardens. Staff so friendly. Check in an out so easy. Really lovely stay. Ample free parking too and love their echo environmentally sustainable ethos which can be seen from the produce used to the products in the bathroom supplied. Excellent.
