Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe room was very comfortable though a little cramped. I also found it to be quite dusty (bedside table, bedframe, etc). The fire exit door did not shut so anyone could just get in from outside. The staff was friendly but wasn't overly available. I felt that the hotel had so much potential but was slightly run down, unfortunately. Such a shame as it is such a stunning building.
A charming hotel with tons of character. The location was superb, close to bus stops and market square. The room was warm despite the very cold weather. Breakfast times were flexible and options quite varied. Overall, it was an excellent stay, though a few things could be improved.

United KingdomRoom was a bit too hot, but it was probably our fault for not turning down the heating in the bathroom. Lamp was broken on arrival and replaced, no problem.
Lovely breakfast. Very nice room with good facilities. Friendly staff, especially the females! Very good value for money.

United KingdomThe shower, although clean, was looking in desperate need of a refit.
Good location in the middle of the town. Cosy room but with comfortable bed. All the usual teas, coffees, biscuits etc. provided. Very good, large breakfast - full English may overwhelm some people it was so large. I wasn't complaining. Staff friendly and explained car-parking situation several times via messages (yoy can't park onsite)

United KingdomThe bedroom only had a bath and we much prefer a shower. The breakfast service was incredibly slow and and limited with meagre portions.
It is a very atmospheric and historic hotel in the heart of town. The evening meal was delicious and well prepared. The staff were all very friendly.

United KingdomLight in bathroom not working. Road noise at night was intrusive. Breakfast was ok and included in room rate but not worth £12.95. Bar prices outrageously high - £6.50 for a mediocre pint of Adnams bitter!
Room and bed were comfortable. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Central location in town.

Czech RepublicParking is not far from the hotel, but directions would be handy in advance, before checing in.
A picturesque, Harry-Potter like pub/hotel established in 1569. Small but very comfy rooms, good beer, professional staff. Very nice walk through a small town, lots of small shops within 10 minutes perimeter, as well as a nice park. Highly recommended..

United KingdomThe annexe rooms are reached by a very steep metal spiral staircase, it didn't give us any problems but wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. The only heating in our room (room 7) was a heated towel rail so the room started to get very cold. However, when I mentioned this to staff, a portable heater was immediately sent over. Also wasn't so keen on the toilet 'cubicle' in the corner of the room made of clouded glass which wasn't completely opaque although a folding screen for added privacy had been provided.
Good location in the centre of town, no parking on site but there are nearby car parks. We had a large, airy room in the converted barn annexe so it was quiet, with a very comfortable bed and nice toiletries. Breakfast was plentiful and staff polite and helpful, although especial praise should go to the lady who was serving breakfast singlehandedly on Remembrance Sunday morning. Despite being rushed off her feet she was good humoured, polite and nothing was too much trouble.

United KingdomThere was a mix up at the hotel and our booking had not been saved, but the staff were reassuring and kept me in the loop. The breakfasts on both mornings were also disappointing - the orders weren't quite right (eg I ordered a veggie breakfast which arrived without a sausage as advertised, and had to ask where it was, and other items were missing from my parties' orders), the poached eggs weren't runny, and one of the muffins was still partially frozen.
The room was fantastic, location great, and the dinner menu was exceptional.

United KingdomThere is no parking on site, although the car park is not far away, small charge payable. Advice is to take the minimum luggage required to walk back to hotel with. The outside rooms are up a spiral staircase, so not ideal for anyone with mobility problems.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. A good breakfast is included in the cost. Plenty of fresh towels provided.

United StatesI was traveling with other family members, so we had two rooms. One room was in the oldest part of the hotel and was amazing, my room was fine, but not amazing. It was super comfortable though.
This is a wonderful 16th century Tudor building, in a town that has a lot of historic Tudor architecture. It was fun to stay in a place so old. The restaurant downstairs is really good too, and breakfast!
