Staff were maybe trying their best but came across as a bit odd. We were later told that they were short-staffed so we had to wait for our room, which was not the problem at all. It was that we were left to sit and wait like numpties for ages without any useful info or update as staff milled about and avoided talking to us. A plea to staff: Can I suggest that rather than avoiding customers when there's a problem, please just give us a quick update, even if you have to make something up... Maybe offer a complimentary soft drink or something, rather than expect us to ask you for updates and have to get your attention while you avoid eye contact and seem annoyed when we ask what's happening. We waited cluelessly for about 45mins. We're not ogres; we're actually all right and absolutely don't mind waiting, especially if you're short-staffed. But being overtly ignored because you're terrified to talk to us and being asked to wait and pay for drinks when we arrived after your stated check-in time is a bit weird.

The room was fantastic, super comfortable and clean. Bottled water, coffee machine, bathrobes, beautiful toiletries, huge bathroom, huge bed and great pillows - - all brilliant. Very new and wonderful location.

Coffee machine requires attention would not dispence hot water for morning brew and could not get tv channels on for some reason .we did report the issue but staff extreamely busy .the food and dining experiance was good over looking the Marina a very attractive place to stay

We were the first guests at this new property. What a lovely place. The rooms are beautiful, very tastefully decorated. Great super king beds with super bedding. State of the art coffee maker with a wide selection of coffees. Radio, large TV and an all important fan as it was a very hot night! Great shower and gorgeous toiletries. The location is perfect if you are boating which we were the next day but also good if you want to be near the attractions, museums etc. Has its own restaurant opposite called The Creek. Great service and food in a superb setting. Al, the staff were so nice and helpful. We will be back.

Unfortunately the shower was rather clogged up with hair and almost overflowed. We did not know how to use the coffee machine and there were no instructions for the coffee machine (we did manage to work it out). Also we would have preferred a cup of tea in the morning!

We had an extremely good vegetarian evening meal, the people were very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and pleasant and it was good to have free parking. We enjoyed the location very much.

Nearly right but let down by attention to detail. Fancy coffee machine but really impossible to make a good cup of tea. Smeary mirror. Only one dressing gown and espresso cup - I didn't use either but just felt a bit lacking in care.

TV had limited reception and no BBC1 The 'Pod Machine' did not have any instructions and we could not work out how to make a cup of tea (coffee & chocolate pods were OK). Pillows were a little too hard. Although the room had a large wall mounted radiator (which was on), it was cold in the room. The view from the window was the wall of the next building.

To check in you have to go to the restaurant across the road which is awkward. Standing in a busy bar and restaurant with baggage is not ideal. The marina reception is situated on the hotel complex yet they have nothing to do with the hotel and their are no signs to instruct on where to check in. There was no way to get help after the restaurant closed, no phone and no room service. We stayed 2 nights and the rooms were not cleaned or replenished during that time. There is also no availability of alternative drinks. I requested decaf coffee and was told they didn't have it so the expensive coffee machine went unused.

The location is excellent, a short walk from Gosport ferry to take you across to Portsmouth Harbour and a short walk to town. The room was clean, if a little small, with hairdryer, TV, large bed, a coffee machine and a decent bathroom with shower.

They closed the kitchen one night randomly for a clean but never pre warned us or anything so went down to have dinner to find it shut, which was extremely annoying you know you have guest email me phone me or put a note on my room. We went down for breakfast on that day could’ve told us then but didn’t. I fully understand it’s a job that needs doing but clearly wasn’t a last minute decision so a pre warning or something would’ve been a nice and pretty basic gesture that they should’ve done.

Little things were a niggle. No iron and ironing board in the room. The room was cold too. Housekeeping could have put the heating on low to take the chill out.

We must have been really unlucky: At check in, the keys to the room couldn't be found for a long time, the boiler needed fixing and we had staff checking the bathroom for 10 minutes, so we had to change rooms, the fire alarm went off before midnight, when all we wanted was a quiet night and get some rest. The staff is trying their best, but our expectations - especially when a hotel charges a premium for a Saturday night - were not met.

It's brand-new, and beautifully decorated, clean and location is not 10 minutes from Gosport ferry which makes it perfect for a trip to Portsmouth

Advertised as marina view but on looks A grey building with only the tops of masts in view, advertised a short distance from gunwharf however a ferry crossing is required and a bit of a walk .... A busy noisy road outside room meant windows had to be kept shut although not able to close bathroom window... When addressed I found staff to be rather dismissive a room swap was offered but too late at night.

Room was dusty. Booked friends in in case they didn't want to stay in the marina. My friends decided not to stay any longer than one night and opted for the boat! I would be more motivated to make more bookings if berth holders had a special rate..I asked about it. . Bit disappointed about that.

I rarely leave a bad review but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with our stay. It’s clear they are relying on the staff from the restaurant to manage the hotel responsibilities. This isn’t fair because (not to the fault of the staff) they aren’t trained properly. Train up the staff or hire hotel specific staff. Communication overall is poor and not up to standard. No response to my question sent via the app. Our room wasn’t ready due to ‘work needing to be completed’ which was not their fault but it took a while to find out the full story on what was going on and how long we needed to wait around. They don’t have the facilities to hold bags. They did however provide a free drink at the bar whilst we waited an hour and a half. Since the prices are so high I expect better service overall. The price would be more reasonable if breakfast was included too, since there’s a fully functioning (and good quality) restaurant on site. I appreciate they’re relatively new but I wouldn’t stay here again unless they address how understaffed they are and re-consider their offering for the price.

Great location, 5 mins walk to Gosport Ferry to get to Portsmouth Harbour (we were going for a festival). Super comfy bed and a nice sized, clean room. Free parking for guests was handy. Nice food in the restaurant.

if you think you are booking a room overlooking the marina , you will be mistaken ! the rooms are actually in the carpark and the other side of the road to the marina so your views are that of the carpark TV did not work in the room despite the best efforts of the staff
