Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe whole place needs a revamp.
Food was fantastic. We were surprised how good the food was. We expected the usual pub grub but this was another level. I had sea bream and my wife had the lamb, both were delicious.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything we didn’t really like. Prices for food might be considered a bit high by some, but to be fair it is the same everywhere these days.
Very friendly Dales country inn with rooms. Good food, nice staff and a great location for walks in Wharfedale. Pheasant room had a spacious en-suite that had been recently refurbished and a comfortable super king bed. Great selection of teas and coffees in the room.

United KingdomOther peoples dogs may be annoying for non dog people. You may get an occasional whiff of cigarette smoke from people smoking outside but wasn't much of an issue during our stay and we needed the window open all the time because of the heatwave. No local tv channels.
Friendly staff with good Yorkshire accents. Good to see this pub was popular with the locals and not just for tourists like us. Local beers available. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay, both very good. Allowed us to bring our dog for the stay. Given our dog isn't good with other dogs there was enough space to keep our distance during dining. Good size room with big comfy bed.

United KingdomWe had not expected so many guests to have dogs. They were mostly well behaved but it was bit off-putting for people who are not fond of large dogs in a small area.
The food was superb. We ate breakfast and dinner twice and all the food was of a very high standard.

United KingdomThere wasn't much not to like. Apart from a few snagging jobs here and there, such as loose taps in the gents toilets and some other wear and tear issues. It's a 270 year old building with many visitors so it's nothing you wouldn't expect. Price of drinks are on the higher end, I paid £4.50 for a pint of lager. I usually drink ales but I'd never tried this particular lager before and it was really good! Some guests must think they're royalty the way they conduct themselves. It's a country pub and dogs are more than welcome in them in Yorkshire. Ireland may have different rules, but you're in Yorkshire. We like dogs more than we like people. Just some friendly advice before looking at my dog like she has two heads, ey.
The staff we met were very friendly and attentive, felt at home straight away. They loved our dog too which is always a good sign. Location is spot on, some really nice views and local walks in the area. The room we booked was fairly basic, although it was a dog friendly room (Grouse) so I understand why they wouldn't throw much money at it considering the amount of dogs they must have staying over. However the bed was huge and comfortable. As for food, we went with the traditional menu (we're Yorkshire born and bred) so we had the fish and chips, which were very good! Nice batter and perfectly cooked white chunky flakes you'd expect from any reputable chippy. I noticed when I got up the following morning a fish van outside, so definitely fresh fish and you can tell. Locals are really friendly. Would definitely recommend a stay here or to nip in for food, but it does get busy on an evening.
