A nice place to stay, with friendly helpful staff, near Fort William.

The rooms and the outside looked a little rough around the edges. The car park was full and the additional parking round the back of the property was virtually non-existent.

The bad and restaurant area were nicely put together. The rooms were simple and comfortable.

Upon walking into our room we were confronted with a distinctly musty odor, and old, worn carpeting that has definitely seen better days. Fortunately, we travel with slippers or I would have had a difficult time walking around the room. It took quite a bit of effort to open the window so that we could get air flow to help take care of the odor, but we were able to do so. The beds were not the most comfortable that we had been on, but not the worst either. In addition, my husband has to use a cpap machine as I am sure that many travelers do nowadays, not to mention the need to charge electronics. He had to reverse his sleeping position so that his head was at the foot of the bed so that he could plug his cpap into the wall by the TV as there were absolutely no outlets beside the bed.

We liked that we had a place to rest our heads and that the location offered breakfast. We also appreciated that the lift had been fixed so that we did not have to carry our luggage up to our 3rd story rooms. It did offer a view of the loch across the street which was totally obstructed by the scaffolding in front of our window. I appreciate that the management has asked me to get in touch with them, however they did not leave a way for this to occur. So, unfortunately, my review stands as it is. If you want me to contact you, provide a way.

It was a little tired. The lift wasn’t working when we got there.

It was in a good location just outside Fort William. The staff were very helpful when we requested an earlier check in time.

The manager's unprofessilalism and bad bar service in general. When we arrived we waited in a que to check in. The receptionist was just about to deal with us when the manager came up and started giving out to her about something on the menu in front of us. In the evening time the bar staff were really slow and couldn't deal with a 1/4 full bar. I waited in line for over 10 mins to be served (no table service available even for food) there only 2 people in front of me. Again the manager arrived but instead of helping to clear the line gave out to a member of staff in front of us for helping out and serving customers (I think he was only supposed to clear tables). We ordered two starters and two mains for our dinner. The starters arrived and seconds later the manager arrived with our mains. We explained that we would eat the first to which he gave out to us for not telling him that we wanted the starters as starters and mains as mains. The bar is a pantomime. You have to order everything at the bar yourself. They can't deal with a crowd of 10 or more. You have to get your own cutlery. Some of the seats are covered in dog hair.

The view is stunning. The receptionist is very helpful and made an extra effort to inform us about dietary requirements.

A very tired hotel desperately in need of some investment to modernise. Which the staff all acknowledged and indicated was under way. Dinner in the restaurant was one of the worst dining experiences in my memory

Location was ideal for us and the breakfast was excellent

Hotel looks a tad tired ! Worn carpets and decor needing refurbished. Staff look overworked and demoralised. So £180 for b&b seems a bit pricey!

Nice location looking over the sea, and 30 min walk into town.

My friend and I booked here on our way up to Skye as it said on the booking site that they accepted dogs; we have one each. There were no other options to get or give information about the dogs. On arrival, the receptionist stayed seated with the desk being much higher/ her lower which gave a particularly unfriendly reception. We were then told it was £10 a night for each dog; we were there for 3 nights and had no option but to pay it. There was no notable benefit to us or our dogs for this payment and sadly there were no outside bins either. I was then given a verbal list of what I/ we could do with the dogs. We weren’t allowed to leave them in the room and at breakfast or if we wanted dinner we could only eat in the bar area and have to bring our dogs with us. One of our dogs is a nervous dog and does not do well crowds. Just to prove a point, as he came in 2 men came out of the lift and he barked at them (the surprise) and then the receptionist and another young man who appeared there both rolled their eyes at the dogs reaction right in front of me. This attitude really put a damper on the start of our holiday which was then added to when we went down for breakfast and found ourselves sat completely separate from anyone in the furthest area of the bar. We felt like the naughty kid in school! Thankfully there was a very kind young woman who came and spoke to us a couple of times. We liked her so I felt it only fair to tell her how appreciative we were of her kindness and how we felt/were made to feel so far with our stay. Up until this point we felt that dogs were not so much ‘accepted’’ but that they and their owners were tolerated. The next day at breakfast we were still well away from anyone else but the staff then started to actually acknowledge that we were there and were friendly towards the dogs, a real effort was made. I’m glad improvement was made and I hope that it continues for other dog owners.

The breakfast was self service but plentiful. The room was clean and we were provided with extra milk for the drinks facilities in the room. We paid for a view over the Loch. We were told on the booking website that there were works going on on the roof but it didn’t inconvenience us at all apart from dirty windows where the scaffolding was but not enough to stop us enjoying the view. There was one young woman who was particularly friendly from the breakfast service and she was the first friendly reception we had encountered and I told her so and why (see below) An effort was then made the next day towards us by the staff and things improved.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Great view of the Loch. Would recommend booking a loch view room as the rooms at the back don't have any outlook. Room decor is quite dated but they were clean & tidy.

The place was short staffed; I had to queue at the bar for 15 mins to get a drink and when served the member of staff was clearly stressed out as there were no pleasantries. The food in the evening looked average from what we saw others having so we got a taxi in to town to have a meal there. The room was clean although the bed has was worn out and very squeaky. The carpet in my room was thread bear and generally the room looked like it needed some investment. This was one of two room I had booked and the other was the same with the same issues.

Great location overlooking the water and a short taxi ride to Fort William. A good buffet breakfast in the morning. Okay for a one night stopover which is what we used it for on our motorbike trek to the highlands.

We ate at the hotel and the food was terrible. I ordered pork with mustard gravy. The pork slices were as thin as bacon. There was no mustard gravy only bisto gravy graduals. We order prawn started which was £6 we got 2 prawns! £3 a prawn. Our room was dated with extremely creaking floor boards. Our room was also next to the lift and all night we could hear the lift call bell.

The staff were lovely, the reception area has been revamped and is nice. The breakfast was good
