Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe overhead light kept flickering all night once turned off and kept me awake most of the night. I reccommend wearing slippers or socks in the room, the floor was a bit grubby. Better quality of meats for breakfast are advisable. The sausauge was "squishy" and unpalletable.
The room was as expected for the money. Decor was tired and dated, but plain. I did not use the shower or any other amenities at the property. The breakfast was ok, but not great. Wonderful location near the promenade and the pier.

Nice quiet place near to everything . The beach is just cross the street. The singer (entertainment on Thursday) had a wonderful voice, nice song collection and all the atmosphere was so welcoming.

United KingdomIt’s a little run down but everyone who works there makes up for it.
Look, this is a bit run down old British seaside hotel in need of some TLC. However with the price being what it is it is excellent value for money. Not to mention the staff. I met no person who wasn’t absolutely wonderful to talk to. They were helpful and smiled. If this place had a lick of paint and a bit of interior design with the current staff it would be able to demand much higher prices. Owners of you are reading this then get a little refurb on the go. Breakfast was nice with GF options and helpful staff.

United KingdomThis is more what might bother people. It didn’t bother me. I think if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, then this might not be for you. It does need updating, floor boards creek, rooms r dated, but for a place to sleep, good value for money and location, what more can I say than, I would happily stay again. We should support these hotels. Times must be hard for them and we don’t want to see them close.
Location on sea front, catching bus or driving to places

United KingdomCarpets and freshness of the rooms
Rooms were quite poor. Carpets were really stained and shabby, although hovered. Paint work quite marked. Down stairs in the bar and entertainment areas were nice and clean just the bedrooms were very shabby. Food started off well but last two nights the dishes weren’t so good. Breakfast was pretty good

United KingdomThe Reception area and front door needs interior decorator to bring it back to its former glory. Too much gloss paint, like a railway station. Needs a makeover to bring it back to its original classic heritage
The Location and comfort. Clean room and nice staff. The price was very reasonable for working class people.

United KingdomI went out for the day only to return about 4.30pm to find my room had not been serviced. Much of the decor is tired and in need of refurbishment. The "double glazing " is ineffective. Some of the woodwork at the front of the hotel is rotten.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Food of acceptable standard and served speedily.

United KingdomImprove on cleanless in room and bathroom. Breakfast you could tell the sausages were cheap and cooked in microwave. Hrash browns were dry and tasteless. Our room was too hot. Heating wasn't on, could work out why it was hot. Tv was to small for rooms. Our door didn't close very well.
Size off rooms were great. Teas coffees, bottle of water in rooms which add a nice touch. Lovely bar and lounge area to enjoy. Very spacious, staff were friendly and very helpful

United KingdomThe rooms are much for basic and dated than the photos show. I was locked in the bathroom, unable to open the door from the inside and the front door handle came off in my hand. The room which we were upgraded to was still very dated. I was surprised given how nice the hotel looks in the pictures.
There was an issue with our room and we were very quickly upgraded to a better, seafront room.

United KingdomVery tired decor and general feel of the place. Massive under investment was obvious in many places. For example, the lining of our curtain had a piece cut out of it and we think it had been used to make the bathroom blind ….. Breakfast was not great. We were herded like sheep and it felt a bit Butlins c. 1976. It was not good value in my opinion.
Good location, available parking, kind staff, large room on the corner of the building gave us excellent views of the sea. The room location almost justified the price.

Only way to be able to charge telephone or hearing aids was by pulling cupboard away from wall. The 2 power points are inaccessible otherwise. This room should be taken out of use.
