Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt’s the second time we visited. This time we had a quiet big room with a bit of a sea view. The beds were very comfy. The breakfast was good. They offer an English breakfast. The beach is just across the street and loads of shops and bars are in reach. We will be coming again.

United KingdomAlot of the rooms I have stayed in could do with new shower heads/pipes in the baths as a few different rooms I have stayed in have substantial leaks from this which, apart from reducing pressure could cause problems of seepage in the rooms below.... Room 336 and 200 come to mind

United KingdomMy room needed updating. Wallpaper beginning to come away from the wall, a very stained carpet, mould on the bathroom ceiling, no extractor fan, nowhere to hang towels. The loo didn’t flush properly. Room servicing for my four day stay was minimal. My bin wasn’t emptied even though I stayed for four nights. Bed not made. Bank holiday restaurant staff were at times rather unfriendly, but the breakfast staff who worked on the non-holiday morning were delightful. Other hotel staff were fine throughout eg dealt immediately with requests eg for more teabags/ milk in my room.
Facilities. Position. Breakfast.

United KingdomRoom looked a little tired and in need of a deep clean. But, understand this is a budget hotel and OK for our needs. Maybe a lick of paint would freshen the old place up. Carpet very stained.
Location brilliant, central to theatres, bandstand, beach, shops, bus tours. Breakfast was good. Value for money. Staff at the Burlington polite and helpful. Check in very quick and room ready early...a bonus. We have stayed several times and love the old charm and history of this Grand Hotel. Enjoyed the entertainment too! During our stay we called maintenance due to blocked sink and he came immediately excellent service.

United KingdomWhen we first got there myself & my wife got stuck in the lift, it took the staff roughly 15 minutes to get us out but the lift continued to get stuck on other occasions on our two night stay. The breakfast was OK but the sausages tasted like they were not cooked properly, the rest of the breakfast was OK, the staff at breakfast time were very friendly & helpful so we'll forgive the quality of the sausages.

United KingdomThe overhead light kept flickering all night once turned off and kept me awake most of the night. I reccommend wearing slippers or socks in the room, the floor was a bit grubby. Better quality of meats for breakfast are advisable. The sausauge was "squishy" and unpalletable.
The room was as expected for the money. Decor was tired and dated, but plain. I did not use the shower or any other amenities at the property. The breakfast was ok, but not great. Wonderful location near the promenade and the pier.

United KingdomIt’s a little run down but everyone who works there makes up for it.
Look, this is a bit run down old British seaside hotel in need of some TLC. However with the price being what it is it is excellent value for money. Not to mention the staff. I met no person who wasn’t absolutely wonderful to talk to. They were helpful and smiled. If this place had a lick of paint and a bit of interior design with the current staff it would be able to demand much higher prices. Owners of you are reading this then get a little refurb on the go. Breakfast was nice with GF options and helpful staff.

United KingdomThis is more what might bother people. It didn’t bother me. I think if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, then this might not be for you. It does need updating, floor boards creek, rooms r dated, but for a place to sleep, good value for money and location, what more can I say than, I would happily stay again. We should support these hotels. Times must be hard for them and we don’t want to see them close.

United KingdomCarpets and freshness of the rooms
Rooms were quite poor. Carpets were really stained and shabby, although hovered. Paint work quite marked. Down stairs in the bar and entertainment areas were nice and clean just the bedrooms were very shabby. Food started off well but last two nights the dishes weren’t so good. Breakfast was pretty good
