My only criticism is that for the cost, the room was small and not well equipped, it was described as a 'suite' however it was one room with a large bed, a small TV and no desk (I like to work when I'm away). Saying that, the shower was perfect, hot water and lashings of it. It made up for the rest of the room.

The Hotel was excellent, the staff very efficient and very friendly, Me and my wife (and our dog) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is lovely visually, parking was effortless, and the meals were second to none. Everyone was very friendly, they took the trouble to put us at ease, to the point of ensuring our dog had some food for his breakfast alongside us (that was a touching and lovely thing to do).

The evening meal was excellent the quality of food used was top notch but unfortunately the breakfast quaality was not quite the same. I would have at least expected sourdough bread. Also for the price we paid I was hoping since my last visit a few years ago that the rooms would be ensuite

Nothing really. My bathroom was opposite my bedroom rather than en-suite and while I had doubts at first, it all worked out absolutely fine.

The Burgoyne is in the perfect location. I had a lovely room at the front of the building overlooking the Green - just a delightful view to wake up to. The staff were excellent: very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The dinner was very good, interesting choices and well executed. I have to say that the decor is bizarre for a Yorkshire Dales town, sort of Gothic meets Baroque, but it all adds to the nice, fun atmosphere.

The shower was good for size, but the water was either scalding, or freezing. A really bad feature of a really great property.

Ordered a cheese board and a couple things that were stated on the menu, weren't on the board. Not a big deal, but still a small issue.

The views around the hotel were brilliant and staff were so friendly. Room was cosy, clean and comfy. Given a complimentary couple drinks as it was my partners birthday, which was a nice touch. Food was also very good, which for the price should be expected, as it was quite expensive.

Staff should be more aware of the history of this hotel in order to answer guests questions.

Stunning scenery from every angle because the hotel is elevated within the village. Welcoming staff and they'd already taken our suitcases upstairs to our rooms on the top floor.

We last visited this hotel 15 years ago and we found the interiors were much the same as before. The public rooms need updating as do aspects of the spacious room we booked. The front and rear gardens could be exploited more for the wonderful views to the stunning landscape surrounding the hotel

The music in the bar and dining room was too loud and not to everyone’s taste. The language of the dining room staff could be a bit more professional; ladies of a certain age feel uncomfortable being addressed as “guys”

The manager upgraded our room at no extra cost because a room with an ensuite bathroom was available. Plans are in place to upgrade many parts of the hotel which are looking a bit “tired”, mainly the communal rooms downstairs. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Absolutely nothing except the low cloud spoiling the views!

A beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting in the Yorkshire Dales. We booked the Ivelet room which overlooked the village green. The bathroom was the biggest ever with the tub located in the middle. Very comfortable bed. Great food and very friendly staff.
