Bathroom was very compact. Room decor had issues with peeling paper from what could have been a leak, but the room itself was comfortable and clean. Neither of these things detract from the excellent service and staff which for me is much more important.

In a comfortable room, the bathroom was adequate, but on the small size.

The welcome was fine, the staff were friendly, the evening meal ( pan fried chicken ) was the tastiest meal I'd had in ages. The beer was good, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Overall good value for the price, and I would stay there again.

if you have problems with stairs ask for a lower room but staff helpful took my case upstairs while I parked my car as my girlfriend would have had difficulty.

Such a lovely place to stay, have made us feel so welcome on both occasions we have stayed there. Unfortunately we had some car issues so didn’t arrive until the middle of the night. Sally was wonderful and got up in the night to let us in. She really looked after us when we were all tired! Will 100% be back soon. Thanks again!

We liked everything.

We stayed at the Bulls Head because of a funeral we were attending which was a few minutes down the road. The moment we walked in the gentleman behind the bar checked we had suitable parking and asked if we needed help with our bags. All necessary info was given regarding meal times. The food menus gave plenty of options all reasonably priced, we had an evening meal of fish and chips which was excellent and very hot. The beer was also good. There was good selection at breakfast, my partner had scrambled egg on toast and I had the full English breakfast was very good and filling. The bar area was pleasant with a nice open log fire which was well looked after by the staff. The Landlady said we could stay in our room past checkout time because the funeral wasn't until the afternoon, this was very kind and we accepted. The pub also offered to serve teas and coffees after the funeral and that we could confirm later, this was also very kind especially at such short notice. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff very friendly ,clean and tidy we had eaten in the evening the food was fabulous the choice for breakfast was outstanding if looking for anywhere to stay in this area I highly recommend bulls head you will not be disappointed

Had a one night stay as in the area for a family funeral. The pub was warm and cosy, 2 lovely real fires . Our rooms were cosy warm all night even though it was -6 outside. Cleanliness was excellent. All the staff were very friendly. We had a great meal , all had different things and all tasty and very good value. Breakfast was also great, lots of choice and quality produce. We are planning on coming again in the summer for a family get together.

Excellent breakfast, comfortable quiet room, friendly staff, convenient for the Lake district. Good meals served in the bar but no noise at all in the bedrooms from the pub downstairs.

When i arrived (i think it was a staff member) there was no one at the bar for ages and then when i was seen waiting i wasn't greeted or even sorry I'll be with you in a moment i was just left standing there while she walked passed me around bar etc then she told the young lad to sort me out after a fairly long wait .. The owner who made the pie and breakfast was amazing tho 😊
