We liked everything.

We stayed at the Bulls Head because of a funeral we were attending which was a few minutes down the road. The moment we walked in the gentleman behind the bar checked we had suitable parking and asked if we needed help with our bags. All necessary info was given regarding meal times. The food menus gave plenty of options all reasonably priced, we had an evening meal of fish and chips which was excellent and very hot. The beer was also good. There was good selection at breakfast, my partner had scrambled egg on toast and I had the full English breakfast was very good and filling. The bar area was pleasant with a nice open log fire which was well looked after by the staff. The Landlady said we could stay in our room past checkout time because the funeral wasn't until the afternoon, this was very kind and we accepted. The pub also offered to serve teas and coffees after the funeral and that we could confirm later, this was also very kind especially at such short notice. I would definitely stay here again.

I can honestly say there is nothing bad about this place

Staff very friendly ,clean and tidy we had eaten in the evening the food was fabulous the choice for breakfast was outstanding if looking for anywhere to stay in this area I highly recommend bulls head you will not be disappointed

Had a one night stay as in the area for a family funeral. The pub was warm and cosy, 2 lovely real fires . Our rooms were cosy warm all night even though it was -6 outside. Cleanliness was excellent. All the staff were very friendly. We had a great meal , all had different things and all tasty and very good value. Breakfast was also great, lots of choice and quality produce. We are planning on coming again in the summer for a family get together.

The family room was very comfortable. The Jack and Jill bathroom was a great idea and facilities excellent. The pub itself was very friendly and food was great.

Excellent breakfast, comfortable quiet room, friendly staff, convenient for the Lake district. Good meals served in the bar but no noise at all in the bedrooms from the pub downstairs.

When i arrived (i think it was a staff member) there was no one at the bar for ages and then when i was seen waiting i wasn't greeted or even sorry I'll be with you in a moment i was just left standing there while she walked passed me around bar etc then she told the young lad to sort me out after a fairly long wait .. The owner who made the pie and breakfast was amazing tho 😊

No working heating in room at the time of arrival - sorted out by the staff.

Location, staff, food was great because of a smallish menu the kitchen can cope with well instead of a huge list that would be all frozen food. It really was outstanding value.

The staffs are very helpful and generous. We arrive quite late and the kitchen has been closed but the staff allowed us to order food and eat in the dining room. Breakfast was awesome! The room is clean and well maintained. We got all the facilities we need.

The switch to turn on the shower could be more clearly marked (it’s not a big deal anyway).

Friendly staff. The hotel wasn’t very busy when we went there so got to talk to the manager a little bit more and got some good traveling advice. Breakfast was generous and good. Room was big, bright and cozy.
