The decor is creaking round the edges a bit and might be worth a bit of attention.

Room comfortable and bathroom adequate and clean. All staff very helpful and excellent breakfast.

Our room was lovely and spacious and clean but there were a few small things we noticed like the mirror in the bathroom was tarnished, the front chrome cover was missing from the toilet roll holder and the extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom. The furniture such as sofa and reading chair were a bit tired but functional The reading chair was very uncomfortable, a comfy armchair would have been more welcomed as you couldn’t really sit there and read for any length of time

We loved the age of the building and the original features. The bed was comfy and the food was amazing , the breakfast offering was so delicious

Little things like, TV not working properly and ring stained coffee table were a bit disappointing considering the price.

Beautiful building full of character! Very friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed and delicious food. We had a wonderful stay for our 40th Anniversary.

Our room although a superior room was at the front of the hotel near to the road which was constantly busy and noisy. Room was spacious including the bed, but the decor and furniture were disappointing and in desperate need of a revamp. Was expecting something a bit more grand. Room was a bit basic but clean and tidy, bed was nice and comfy though the thick duvet in warmer weather is certainly not needed.

Long Melford is a pretty village, lots of interesting little shops, great place for antiques. Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall a short walk away. Beautiful hotel steeped in history. Food here is superb had dinner in the evening and the breakfast the following morning, coudn't fault it. All the staff we encountered were friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.

The hot water in the shower took forever to heat up - had to have it on full blast running for a bit to get some semblance of warmth.

The staff were great, couldn't do enough to help me, very friendly. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfy. Easy check-in and check-out as well.

The hotel does look a little "tired" and could do with some livening up. Flowers on dining tables were old, or dead. Attention to detail.

Unfortunately we stayed in a room that had a 'private' fire escape outside our room so we had a glass door instead of a window, but only a window-sized curtain - it was therefore extremely light in the room, which made sleeping in the early morning hours difficult. The pillows could have been more comfortable as well. We had an issue with the iron, we'd only just turned it on to use it and it immediately burnt a hole into the T-shirt! So use the iron with care (or not at all if you want to be on the safe side). The floors creaked a lot but that didn't bother us too much.

We liked the feel of the hotel and the location. The staff were really friendly, helpful and absolutely lovely. The rooms are spacious and our double bed was very large. We enjoyed the breakfast as well although we preferred the vegetarian sausages to the meat one ;) Cinnamon rolls are amazingly delicious, can totally recommend! Overall we were happy with our stay.
