Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing to not like to be fair. If I'm to be really picky then some EV charges would have been a complete 💯
The working team were very attentive and the staff actually looked like they wanted to be there which is always a bonus, the breakfast was delicious and the food (although we never had dinner as we'd eaten) looked very enticing. We'd definitely make it as a place to dine in the future. Beautifully set within a cricket green area, great location and friendly pub.

United KingdomI think that the business needs more staff. The bartender had to check us into the rooms, meaning that they had to leave the pub to help us. I also had requested a cot on the original booking, and nobody replied to me. Then, when we arrived, I asked about the cot and was told that they would ask their manager. In the end, I had to physically chase this up, and told them that I presumed the answer was no. Indeed, it was, meaning we had to buy one because there wasn't a bed for my toddler. Unfortunately, there was a power cut on Saturday evening, which, whilst the staff aren't at fault for this, we felt that there could have been more attempt at hospitality. We were very much left to our own devices. It felt very much like the pub and restaurant are the focus, and the hotel side of things isn't as important to them as a business. I also encountered a staff member going into one of our rooms an hour before check out. Presumably, to see if they could clean, but surely, since check out was at 11, they could have waited. Wasn't too impressed as we had a lot of personal belongings out in the room.
The food was absolutely incredible, and the rooms were nicely decorated, plus there was plenty of parking and space on the property. The staff were generally quite friendly, and I found that in the pub / restaurant of an evening, the manager was really engaged with us and seemed like he would go out of his way to keep us happy, as we also had friends joining us the following day. It's a shame, because this place has such potential, and I really cannot praise the food enough, but I have certainly stayed in better accommodation.

United KingdomI explained I was coeliac and couldn’t eat wheat/gluten. My breakfast came with only GF bread. Had a sausage that wasn’t GF etc. Allergies are extremely important so my only advice is this pub needs to invest in some staff training on allergies for both staff front of house and the chef.
Lovely room, clean and comfy bed.

United Arab EmiratesThe rooms are extremely outdated with no inside lock on them. The venue itself including the eating areas and customer toilets were very dirty and unpresentable. I honestly expected a lot more of this place. There was no staff present to clean the tables or greet any guests staying over night at breakfast. The were no lights on, tables were not clean or prepared. I had to actually knock on the kitchen door to find someone, very unprofessional. Such a shame for somewhere in such a lovely location, with so much potential that even boats Michelin stars on their doors. It came across as tired and as though people no longer cared about it. Hopefully my stay was just bad timing with minimal/ untrained staff.
The location is great if you are attending nearby functions/events at Braxsted park or alike. There was a good selection of teas and coffees in the room. The water bottles and biscuit were also a nice touch.
