No cleaning during our stay. The twin rooms had a terras that looked out on the pub garden so it's not very calm or private .

The bathroom wasn't as good. The tap on the handbasin was hard to press and made a great deal of noise. The showerhead did not look very clean. There was no waste bin in the bathroom and no means to clean or disinfect the toilet if needed.

Very comfortable,clean, spacious room: simple pleasing decor, good TV , good view of countryside. Preferred the wood flooring to carpet. As the large window looked onto the pub garden a net curtain would have been useful in addition to the heavy drape.

The wheels under the bed kept the bed on the move when sitting up looking at TV / doing the Crossword. There was just one chair in the room.

My husband was looking forward to his full English breakfast but breakfasts have been discontinued. However continental breakfast can be brought round the night before if ordered. There is a cafe in the village.

Since our last visit a few years ago the Motel has changed ownership and had a renovation. We were pleasantly surprised at the new flooring, interior make-over, large bed and the cleanliness of it all. There is a lovely view from the outside seating area of the unit. We had dinner (Friday steak night 2 courses for £40) and lunch and both we enjoyed. The new owners were friendly and helpful. The property is virtually next door to "Batemans" and good for the many National Trust properties in the area. We will be staying again.

The Booking .com website needs to be more honest about breakfast.It says not included it should say NOT available.We were advised to use a local cafe.However it did not open Monday or Tuesday and on Friday Saturday and Sunday it did not open until 10am. Fortubnately the convenience store was avalilable.

The landlady was a little frosty when we arrived at 12.20 and said the room wouldn't be ready til 2 to 2,30pm . We were going to the wedding at 2.15 and needed to get ready and I had asked for early check in. She said she would see what she could do and then came back and said a room hadn't been used the night before so we could go in there. As there were only 8 rooms I would have thought she would have known that at the start and there would have been no need to tell us we couldn't get in a room.. Anyway we got in our room and they actually got our second room ready before we left for the wedding. They didn't do breakfast although it said on the website breakfast was available. Luckily there was a cafe across the road that did a lovely breakfast.

The view was amazing, the room was fine. We only stayed one night and we didn't spend much time in the room as we were out at a wedding but it was clean and spacious with plenty of tea and coffee.

It would have been helpful to have a little more information about what was in the room eg toiletries etc. But the space, view, welcome and cleanliness more than made up for that.

The view from our room was amazing. The landlord was excellent and really made an effort to look after us.

A minor suggestion for guests that stay longer than an overnight stay, would be to supply washing up detergent and a tea towel for the washing and drying of the tea mugs. Our stay was for four nights but I'm sure if we had asked it would have been supplied.

We loved the spacious room and the beautiful view. Easy walk to High Street and public walking track. It was a great base for travelling around the surrounding villages and tourist attractions. Would recommend the motel.
