We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomI may have eaten in the restaurant had there been some vegan options. However, I understand they could have adapted the menu for me and the chef did replace my complimentary pastry in my room for a lovely vegan treat.
Lovely location atop a valley, I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. Staff were super friendly and I felt really welcomed and cared for. My room was really cosy and although this was a business trip, I felt as though I was on holiday. Really great value for money and I totally appreciated my complimentary upgrade.

United KingdomBreakfast is limited, especially for vegetarians. There are a couple of options, but when one of our guests asked to 'add' a couple of sides to the egg on toast (like tomato or mushroom) they would not do it. We were happy to pay extra, but they flat out refused. They were just not accommodating at all. What really annoyed us was the check out process. Our check out was apparently 10am. We stayed for breakfast, and therefore were a little late checking out. They knew we were there, but not once suggested we should check out before breakfast or we would be charged. When checking out, they tried to charge us £20 per room. Even thought we spend over £1k for dinner the night before, AND ate breakfast at their restaurant the next day, the would not waive the £20 per room - again, extremely unreasonable. We were literally in their restaurant, spending more money, and still tried to charge us a 'late check out'. They just told us to read the 'terms and conditions'. Gobsmacked. Now this isn't a super busy venue for accommodation, there were not people lining up on a Sunday waiting for their rooms. It was totally unnecessary. It is such a shame as the venue is amazing, however the way they managed the check out process left a bitter taste in our mouth - we wont be back because of this reason.
We were are party of 6 for dinner, accommodation and breakfast the next day. Lovely venue, accommodation is excellent, as is the food in the restaurant. Our accommodations were upgraded, so we all had lovely rooms, the accommodation is really nice.

United KingdomThe only problem was the restaurant and bar being closed from 4pm on Wednesdays which I did not see written down on booking.com beforehand. Also the 10am check out time is a little early as wanted to experience longer in the mornings.
The location and scenery was beautiful and the summer house had a lovely vibe to the place. I highly recommend.

United KingdomRoom was too hot (underfloor heating set at 24C and not adjustable); no soap provided in bathroom (despite requests), no water (at all) in the morning, due to a plumbing issue - so no shower, couldn't flush loo etc etc. No staff on site at night. The hotel has only recently opened, but evidently there was no testing of the rooms or facilities prior to accepting paying guests. For the price, these 'glitches' should be ironed out BEFOREHAND. Moreover, there was no proper apology. Breakfast was good but £3.50 for a croissant and £2.95 (I think?) for a coffee (with no refill) seems rather steep!
Amenities in room - coffee machine, decent hairdryer, nice toiletries. Comfy bed. Beautiful décor and soft furnishings - clearly an expensive interior designer job!

I booked a night stay at the Beacon for my fiancé’s birthday. We arrived to be told that we had been upgraded to the summer house (wedding suite). We were blown away with the room, the views and amazing outdoor bath/hot tub. We were so in love with the room we didn’t want to leave therefore ordered a takeaway so we could watch sunset in the incredible views of the lakes and valley. Hein (the hotel manager) went above and beyond to make our stay as special as possible, he was personable, accommodating and very passionate about the hotel. The hotel has recently been renovated with all new decor to high quality. This place will always be a special place with amazing memories. We can’t wait to come back!!
