We did not tell them when we were arriving, but an idea to put the heating on say half an hour before guests arrive when it is cold. (this may happen if they know the guests ETA. Suggest a shower mat the smooth floor was a little slippery may have implications for guests who are not very steady on feet.

Poor Wi-Fi and difficult parking

Attention to detail was amazing , from the towels to the breakfast to the hot drinks selection in the room and biscuits . Bottles of water and a chocolate on the bed ! Very clean , warm and quiet . Lovely shower gel and hand soap .

I genuinely cannot fault anything about The Barn. The space for parking is quite small but even then, absolutely nothing I can fault about it.

Absolutely wonderful room. There was temperature control in the room, which was perfect coming back from a day at Leeds festival and needing to be warmed through. The selection of refreshments in the room was varied and fantastic. Bathroom modern, clean and relaxing. The bed was the best bed we've ever slept in out of every hotel or B&B we've used in the past. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, including allowing early check in, we also arrived back very late and everything was fine. I was visually exhausted in the morning, and didn't choose to have breakfast - in lieu of breakfast, the owner gave me some lucozade and painkillers, that kindness and personal touch absolutely made my day. They were needed!! My partner also said the bacon sandwich was the best he'd ever had and "this is the best place I've ever stayed".

Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice. Lots of thoughtful little touches in the room which were very tastefully decorated. Monk Fryston itself is also quite interesting and the heritage trail is worth doing.

The only possible improvement would be to make it obvious that the Barn is accessed from a turning next to the Post Office. We missed the turn the first time!

The room, though not exceptionally large, is very well appointed and beautifully decorated. Tea and coffee making facilities are generous, yet, despite this, our hostess insited on bringing a tray with freshly made tea and coffee on our arrival. The breakfast was exceptionally good - a plate of six different fresh fruits, followed by the traditional 'English', cooked to order and very tasty. There is a choice of teas and coffees. The local pub (a five minute walk away) serves food all day.
