This is for the ensuite room. Wouldn't prefer the other room with bathroom across the common room, even when we barely used (the nevertheless nice) common room.

This was an outstanding stay! Outstanding in hospitality, in comfort and location. Thanks Gail, for this great stay at your house, we enjoyed it! Parking spaces in front of the house, modern and clean room, plenty of space … Extraordinary breakfast with a view … okay we were also lucky enough to have excellent weather during our stay ;) For everyone: you have to walk to the close-by beach, it’s is a wonderful place !

Absolutely nothing apart from leaving.

If I could give higher scores I would. We arrived 3/4 hour before check in time soaking wet and were welcomed in by Gail. She is so friendly and made us tea and coffee even though there were facilities available upstairs. She also offered an evening meal or a lift down to the hotel for dinner. The accomodation is outstanding. Its finished to a very high standard and has a very large sitting area where there are great views out windows on 3 different sides of the house. I cant recommend this high enough and if we're back in John O'Groats I definately hope there is availability.

Comfortable shared lounge (Only between 2 rooms) with Netflix, Freeview, Stocked Mini-Fridge and snacks! Drinks on arrival (We decided on a wine!) We got very lucky and had an upgraded room including en-suite, huge queen sized bed and plenty of walking room Host was super friendly, told us all about the places we should visit, where to eat and the history of the area Breakfast options were plentiful and felt gourmet (with Vegetarian options and Vegan/Gluten Free available on request) Secure parking available Incredibly clean and comfortable

Our only complaint was that the bathroom was not directly connected to our room. We had our own bathroom and it was fabulous but we had to walk across the haul to use it. The facility did provide robes. That was useful. Otherwise fantastic place to stay.

The hostess was super friendly, helpful and accomodating. She made sure we were comfortable upon arrival. There were several options for breakfast. Super clean and super comfortable. Fabulous views.

Gail wants to make her B&B a home away from home and she definitely succeded at that. We've had the loveliest time at her place, she is such a warm and welcoming person and we immediately felt at home. The breakfast was amazing, so much more than we ever expected! And the view from the room was spectacular. Of all the places that we stayed all over Scotland, we loved Gail's place the most. We'd definitely stay with her again!

There was nothing to fault.

This is by far the best property we had stayed on this trip. It may seem to be in the middle of nowhere but very near to the Duncasby Head. The whole house was beautiful, the decor, the facilities was very nice and modern. The host even messaged me to book dinner reservations early as food options around is limited. We had a great time with all the amenities. The surrounding was quiet and tranquil. The room, bed was comfortable and warm. There was even a lounge area outside where we had our breakfast. Breakfast was sumptuous and had great variety. It was a great stay, a great sleep.

There was nothing that I DIDN'T like!

The breakfast was excellent. The property has been very thoughtfully (and very well) located to get maximum benefit from the beautiful views of the surrounding area and the nearby Orkney islands. Gail is a wonderful hostess who cannot do enough to ensure that her guests feel welcomed, are happy and have everything they need. The property is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet and the very attractive and comfortable shared sitting area is just a lovely bonus. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Anchorage B and B to any and all potential guests.

There is nothing to criticise, though an evening meal would have been ideal - Gail’s husband is a local creel fisherman.

Flawless location with exceptional views. Perfect and very helpful host in this two-bedroom guesthouse with communal area and outstanding breakfast. My ferry to Orkney was cancelled due to bad weather, and Gail was happy for me to hang around long after departure time, topping up my coffee. Couldn’t fault it, and from experience vastly better than the local hotel
