Ideal location to explore Bury St Edmunds

The breakfast was generous and everything was cooked to order. The room was clean and tidy. It had a cupboard with various glasses and tea / coffee. You also had the ability to use a room down stairs to cook your own meals if required or bring in takeaways. It is a short walk to the centre of town so ideally located and at a good price.

    can't really think of anything

A nice friendly greeting from staff as we walked in, a little chat about the local area, did we know anything about the town, points of interest etc. Quirky old building, books everywhere so not stuck for something to read on a longer stay. Short walk in to the town centre or a slightly longer one through the Abbey gardens to the centre. A shopping area that hasn't changed hugely from the eighties when I was stationed in the area, different shops but still bustling unlike some. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Excellent breakfast in the morning, always a good start.

For a large room the bed was small.

A great family hotel with quirky rooms. The room was comfy with plenty of space with a small sitting room. It was very quiet and lovely and warm on a very cold day. Great showers. The staff were very friendly

Coffee bags would be an improvement for in the room, to match the fantastic coffee served for breakfast please.

Extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, cheerful and helpful staff, beautifully cooked breakfast. Free parking and location were excellent for our stay. Spacious room that was bursting with character.

It was a very peaceful hotel. The only disturbance I experienced was from traffic outside. It was quite nice

The breakfast was typical British fare but what is nice is how it is catered specially to your needs (things not mentioned on menu were accommodated for)

The hotel is slightly tired but it has lots of charm and the hotel accounts for that in the price. I think they could even charge more!

In terms of value for money, this hotel is great! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was super quick and enjoyable - very traditional English fry up! The hotel has lovely lounge areas and feels very homely. Location is fantastic too! And great they have parking given central location.
