We loved the hosts, Hannah&Elysia they are so sweet and helped make the experience the best! The walk to the sea was so peaceful and perfect for an action packed traveling day. Good food. Loved their new pets. We would definitely go back.

Very high end furnishings with comfort and style. Personalised service. Lovely friendly host. Host rose early and made hot breakfast for us as we had to leave early for the ferry. Very kind.

Highly recommended Bed and Breakfast! The accommodation is not only beautiful but also impeccably clean. The hosts are extremely friendly and attentive, making our stay particularly enjoyable. The breakfast was diverse and delicious. Everything is just perfect here!

Nothing could be better! Our stay was about as perfect as it could be! We loved it!

Fabulous! We knew the property had received great reviews but we were blown away by this place! Our stay definitely exceeded our expectations. Jennie (we didn’t meet Joe) couldn’t have done enough for us. Breakfast was great & the lobster dinner was to die for! The setting is lovely, the rooms well appointed, clean, and quiet! What an incredible find. We’re so very happy we stayed at Tarrel Farmhouse and can’t wait to return!

Having to leave !

Well worth the short detour to Portmahomack; super comfortable room with smart on-suite. Copious hot water and heating to take the chill of the night air. Jennie's catering was top notch (we had problems with dinner at the Castle Hotel which booked us a dinner slot on a closed night !!) and we appreciated the stand in dinner provided (wonderful steak pie). The full breakfast was beyond our appetites, but the waffles and fruit hit the spot. Many thanks Jennie.

Amazing! I couldn‘t explain it any better. If you find yourself in this region of Scotland, go there (but please always leave a room free for me to come back). And yes, they do have a sauna and a cosy lounge and amazing coffee and everything else you could dream of

I stayed here in 2019 when it was just starting out and it was already fantastic. I’ve been looking forward to coming back ever since, and my return visit did not disappoint. Jennie continues to be an incredible host, always present and welcoming, and everything was even better than I remember it. Breakfasts and dinner were wonderful, the room was clean and inviting and so comfy (such comfortable beds!!), and the location was beautiful and easily accessible from Tain.

From the moment we arrived, we felt a warm and genuine from the hosts. The farmhouse itself was charming and beautifully maintained, surrounded by picturesque landscapes. The highlight of our visit was the incredible dinner we had in the outside area. The setting was perfect, and the food surpassed all expectations. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing fresh and local ingredients. We also appreciated the unique touch of the honesty bar, allowing us to enjoy a selection of beverages. The following morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast that left us energized for the day ahead. The attention to detail, exceptional service, and the overall ambiance of Tarrel Farmhouse made our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with culinary delights. We can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories!

Wish we could have stayed longer!

An old farmhouse with smart modern interior. On arrival we were offered the option of a light evening meal which we accepted. The meals were incredible, more in line with top restaurant. Breakfast gave options including “full Australian”; highly recommend. Accommodation was of a high standard and spotless.

The food was excellent. The place is a great retreat to get away but also an ideal spot from which the explore the region. Lovely accessible walks by the North Sea are very close at hand.
