Could have had coat hangers and/or coat hooks. Tea making would have been a bonus

Well cooked breakfast. Basic room lacking tea making, but overall a very comfortable bed. Excellent location in the High Street. Good car park. Staff on hand always smiling and helpful

When booking I believed I would have a kettle and some tea etc, but I didn't have nothing. The shower door kept on sliding off. It is very loud on a night time, and people just walking right past your window shouting.

Friendly staff, room was clean and there's plenty of options for food and pubs right outside.

The windows are old and very thin and as the location is in a pub on a busy high street we were kept awake by loud people coming and going from the pub and people walking drunk through the town until the early hours which wasn't ideal especially as we had an early start and a child with us.

Room was spacious and clean. Decent place for the price we paid.

Had to swap room as there was an issue with the first room. Unclean undergarment from previous guest was left on a shelf. Food was quite basic, ordered the ‘handcrafted’ steak and ale pie, it was at a guess a frozen/fridge store bought meat pie, certainly not handcrafted rather disappointing.

Location was close to where I needed to be. Bed was comfortable, linen was clean. Ok for a short stay.

It was a very busy weekend in Stourbridge and everything seemed very busy. Staff seemed overworked but that may just have been because of how busy it was.

The room was a good size and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. There was a good car park. The pub was quiet later on. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We ended up staying for two nights and thought it was good value. We moved from one room because the blind was not working and the staff were very helpful.

The Talbot Hotel is a well managed hotel in a convenient location for Stourbridge town centre and a good base for exploring the local region.

There is a lot of black mould in the grout of the bathroom in room 106 which is most likely compounded by the fact that the extractor in the bathroom doesn’t work. Outside the front door is the kitchens along with a noisy extractor fan and noisy staff. The room lacked basics you’d generally expect to be provided - a litter bin for example. Whilst this is an economy room, a bin should be provided as standard. The window didn’t open and no fan - so in the summer that room would be horrific. The tap inside the toilet cistern was running/ dripping during the night which was a bit annoying. Oddly only 3 pillows on a double bed - not an issue but you’d expect both sides of the bed to have the same. Room which is accessible to literally anyone was unlocked on arrival - a bit disconcerting knowing that anyone could have walked in before I got there. Couldn’t mention this to staff at checkout as nobody was on reception - just a pile of keys. None of this would stop me from staying again, but there’s room for improvement and I hope this feedback is taken on board.

The staff member checking me in was pleasant - very friendly and engaging. The bed/ mattress itself was firm but comfy. The carpet/ bedding/ towels etc were clean and fresh. The standard of decor was good, contemporary and the room I was in was very generously sized. The room was good value overall at just over £40.
