We really did not mind the stairs. But could be an issue if you had big luggage or mobility issues.(As disclosed by property.)

Although I was dreading the 60-70 stair spiral staircase, it wasn't as bad as expected as there is a landing after each 15 or so steps. The accommodation is 200 years old so you have to expect it. I cant fault anything.

We were met on time with Keys and also kindly helped to get our luggage from carpark. The apartment was beautiful, loads of mirrors, views from windows were magnificent. Location on the Royal Mile was fabulous, saw pipers one night after a walk just up the mile. Plenty of attractions and places to eat and drink very close by. Newly renovated bathroom, beds were comfy and nice rocking chair at the window.

The owner was helpful, but was not on the premises, and insisted on meeting us for check in, therefore our for our time at Edinburgh Castle had to be cut short to match her schedule, as she had a very small window due to other appointments that day. . This was not clear upon booking and not something we ever encountered. Check in has always been at our discretion and a lock box or keypad utilized for entry if personnel aren’t available.

Everything we needed was right there. Umbrellas, washer, comfortable beds, great views. The unit is on the 3rd or fourth floor up a spiral staircase so don’t book unless your party is in good physical condition. Couldn’t be any closer to Shops and restaurants if you tried.

Be aware that there is no lift and this flat is on the 3rd (4th if you are American) floor. There are narrow winding steps (it is an old building), so do not overpack! We were prepared but if you are mobility challenged or unable to carry your bags up multiple steps, you will have trouble.

The location of this flat in the heart of the Royal Mile cannot be beat. The views from the windows overlooking Princes Street were amazing. If you are looking for a cozy, comfortable flat steps from St Giles and everything the Royal Mile has to offer, this is the place for you.

Having the wifi must not touch buttons right next to light switches for bathroom could cause issues as easy to accidentally hit wrong one at night.

Location was incredible - having been to Edinburgh many a time, was pleasantly surprised to find this right on the Royal Mile. The flat was spacious, clean and comfortable as well as warm! They reached out week before re: organising key handover and were flexible with options as well as providing a video about the door entry system.

Entrance, to apartment from street. Stairs and halls are not very welcoming, and a little intimidating ( but not the apartment owners fault).

Beautiful apartment, great views, excellent location. Everything provided that you could need for a short or long stay. Everything you could need literally on the doorstep Great handover.

Shower system did not work. We only got 3 showers in a 3 day stay. After taking one shower it would not restart. Or would stop while showering. Followed all directions and talked to host. Was told it worked for previous guest. After reading all reviews at least 5 people complained about the shower. Very long list of instructions on how to get it to function and I tried 20 times per instructions. Lots of stairs. Some people might have issues with luggage. Didn’t like having to meet host to check in. Lots of traffic on a holiday week from London and we felt pressure to arrive on time. Could not stop to eat because there would have been a late fee for check in. Place could have been warmer. No extra blankets. Main room was cold and we were told not to put heater above 22. Still felt cold.

Location was great however you can’t park close even to unload. We had people hop out with luggage. Parking 10 minutes away. Spacious and clean.

The check in rules are too stringent for international travellers. There should be a key safe installed in the property to avoid inconveniences caused to travellers and the property managers.

70 stairs! We managed, but there are people who could not have made it up the stairs with their bags. This should be in the property description! Also, this property required that someone meet us with the keys, Early in the day, we were only able to give an estimated arrival time. Approximately an hour ahead we were able to give regular updates and an accurate time of arrival. The managers had multiple properties to check in, and though they tried their best, after multiple messages and calls, they were unable to be there at our arrival. We had to wait 20 to 30 minutes to get into the property. Not a deal breaker, but unusual.

We loved the apartment. The views were incredible and the location was perfect for exploring Edinburgh. We had everything we needed, including a well equipped kitchen.

Didn't love that I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with all my luggage. No elevator. The stairwell wreaked of smoke, though I don't think there is anything the host could do about that. Smell was from other units in the building. The shower needs help. Head was broken and the water was either burning hot or freezing cold.

If you are looking for location only, then this is an awesome spot. RIght in the heart of the Royal Mile. Walk out the door into the middle of it all. Host was very friendly and responsive. Even left us a treat at the front door.
