Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe BnB was in a great and convenient location. The hosts are very personable and kind. They offered personalized tours which was very convenient. Keiron offered to give me a ride to Clava Cairns and Culloden which was very convenient since it poured down rain all day. He also worked with me to provide a tour within my budget to the Isle of Skye. And lastly he even gave me a ride to the airport on my departure day.

United StatesMy only regret is that I did not have more time to stay.
Located just a few minutes walk from the train station and high street shopping, across a picturesque footbridge. The quiet residential neighborhood has plenty of restaurants, markets, laundromats, pharmacies, cafes, and bakeries just around the corner. Jo, Kieron, and Myrtle (their black labrador) are most excellent and helpful hosts. The B&B has only a few rooms which means personalized service and an excellent hot breakfast customized for each guest. The room was clean and cozy and furnished with all the essentials. As luck would have it, Kieron also runs Highland Quest Private & Bespoke Tours. He is a very knowledgeable local guide and took me around Isle of Skye one day and to the Speyside Distilleries on the next. Definitely take advantage of this service while you are staying and be sure to book in advance as both the B&B and the Tours are strictly limited and fill up quickly!

The place was just great! Kieron and Jo have been absolutely fantastic, very friendly and always ready to help and support you. The breakfast was exquisite with different choices to choose from. You have the choice to join the private tours around the area with Kieron, which I personally think it's great, especially if unsure of where to go, what to visit. I would definitely go back to them and advise other people to do so in the case they are unsure where to stay. You can definitely feel safe and taken care of. The area is nice and quiet, you can easily get to the bus station in walking distance. They made me feel home and still miss them xx

United KingdomThe double bed was a bit on the smaller side and locking the room door needed a bit of effort but, overall, this is nitpicking as the accommodation is excellent value for money.
Very convenient location, comfortable family room, clean and tidy facilities, tasty breakfast, friendly and supportive customer service. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Strathallan especially if you're travelling with younger children who need to share a room with you. You'll be close to everything in town and your hosts will make sure you've got everything you need for a pleasant stay.

FranceI had a wonderful stay at Strathallan. Jo and Kieron are lovely hosts, and Myrtle the dog is the cutest! My room was clean and well-equipped, and the freshly prepared breakfast every morning was very good. Strathallan B&B is located a short walk from the city centre and I felt very safe walking to and from there, even late at night. I can't recommend this place enough!!

CanadaCieran and Jo were lovely hosts, with Cieran even volunteering to taxi us to difficult to reach destinations. Breakfasts were delicious and though the room was smallish, it was well-appointed and very comfortable. The location was terrific as Inverness is an easily walkable city and Strathallan is in a quetish area not more than 10 minutes walk from the city center.

CanadaWhat a wonderful cozy place in the heart of Inverness! The guesthouse is located in a quiet neighbourhood, just a short walk from downtown and the beautiful river walk. The room was spotless clean and very comfortable. Delicious hot breakfast is served in a cozy dining room by the hosts. I can’t say enough good words about the hosts Jo and Kieron who were absolutely fantastic, very kind and welcoming. I had to leave super early one day and Jo went out of her way to still serve me hot breakfast outside the regular hours. Thank you, Jo and Kieron, for your wonderful hospitality!

Just returned from a wonderful visit to Strathallan B&B. I cannot praise this B&B enough. Jo and Kieron are wonderful hosts and make a super team. The standard of accommodation is excellent - rooms are spotlessly clean, they have everything you need, the bed was super comfortable. What makes the unique selling point of this B&B is the lovely warm and friendly atmosphere created by Jo and Kieron. Super attentive, welcoming, friendly hosts. And Myrtle made my stay extra special! Thank you for a great stay - I will be back!
