Fantastically clean room and bathroom shower plus the bath tub were great and super clean. The breakfast was lovely and fresh too. I also loved the gym, well equipped. The hotel staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful.

Bed in my room was abit springy and i struggle with back pain sometimes so wasnt the greatest but was still quite comfy.

All staff were very friendly and did there best to make everything as easy and smooth as possible 🤝🏻

Unfortunately, the rooms in this hotel are looking a little tired, especially the one we stayed in. It was a privilege king room on the sixth floor. It was more like a box room. The air con didn't work, which didn't help as it was extremely stuffy. We have stayed quite a few times at the Mercure, on different floors, and the rooms have been quite large (certainly room for two). I wonder if the sixth floor rooms are one guest rooms only.

The staff were wonderful as always. Great location for local theatres. Nice seating in the bar area and outside. Lovely spa facilities.

The newer suite was a lot smaller than my original room, but facilities were better, and the air con was much appreciated. I wouldn't say this particular Mercure 4 star was as up to other Mercure 4 star standards I've stayed in. The first room air con was broken. The stairs down to reception needed vacuuming, and the sink plug hole in my room got stuck so I couldn't empty the water.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Robin, on reception in particular, went above and beyond to help me with any issues I had, and all staff were very professional. I was upgraded to a newer suite with a better air-con after the one in my original room didn't work, so I'm happy overall with my experience. The location was excellent for where I needed to be, and half-price parking was helpful

The spa could be more accessible for those with disabilities. The spa showers seem to have a problem with mould, though this is likely to do with being underground. The extra charge for guests to use the spa is wrong. The TV was small, positioned wrong for the bed and didn't have full Freeview channels.

The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and spacious. The spa facilities were ok. The pool, sauna, steam room and ice room were clean. The hotel receptionists were very helpful and there was abundant tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The view is great.

The rooms are a little plain, but very spacious. It would have been great to have a full length mirror in the room. Regarding parking, just make sure your ticket has been validated prior to leaving. I did ask for this, but when I got to the car park there was no 50% discount as advertised and so I paid in full. Otherwise a lovely stay!

The hotel itself is beautiful and immaculate. The location is perfect and it feels really luxury. Staff were welcoming and polite throughout.

Bed was uncomfortable. Think the mattress needs replacing. Toilet tissue on the bathroom floor and in the toilet on arrival. Room was clean but just not a great look on arrival.

No windows to open so was stuffy in the room. The air con was broken and the tv sound wasn't very loud. I complained about the 2 problems reception said they would send someone round but they didn't. When got back to our room nothing had been rectified. So very disappointed, I mentioned it again on check out said sorry for the inconvenience.

I loved the location of the hotel as it was within a short walk from and to the station, it was surrounded by beautiful buildings and a glass-enclosed garden with lovely plants. The facilities were also excellent and all the staff that I encountered were highly professional and friendly.
