The location could be a little challenging if you own a sports car - for my trusty little polo, it was absolutely fine.

The family who owned the property were so lovely and really couldn’t do enough for you……….& the bed was HUGE & so comfy! The continental breakfast was also delicious and so nice to eat off & drink out of traditional china plates & cups.

    There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

Stone House has stunning views, perfect place to stay if you like peace and quiet. The bed was very comfortable with an electric blanket. Plenty of hot water from the shower and lovely large bath towel. An electric kettle ,tea, coffee and fresh milk in room. A continental breakfast is included in price and a freshly cooked breakfast is available at an extra cost. Both are very tasty. Emma sent me an email prior to arrival with instructions on how to find Stone House and nearby places to eat.

Peaceful Stay in a Gorgeous Georgian house.

I liked it all but personally would have preferred to have had a small kettle in my room so I could have a cup of coffee / tea in the morning. After my 6 hour drive I just wanted to chill out in my room after a shower but it meant I didnt want to wander down stairs and grab another hot drink whilst wearing my PJ's so I was glad I had brought a couple of bottles of water with me.

My husband Tony booked this for me as I had an event to attend at Builth so was just one nights stay but would have liked to stay longer. I loved the location and the house was gorgeous. A warm greeting by Emma the owner was very welcoming. The furnishings and decor were all in keeping with the age of the house and beautifully done. The bedroom and EnSuite were a good size A king size bed with a comfortable mattress . The curtains were interlined and shut out the light so provided a good nights sleep with no light peeping in. It was lovely and quite as positioned up a little lane with no close neighbors. The morning revealed a beautiful view of the hills and countryside from the large Georgian sash windows. A lovely and interesting house . The communication was excellent from Emma and an email before my stay gave really detailed instructions on how to get there. Cake was also offered on arrival. There was a kettle and tea and coffee available in the dining room. I didnt stay for breakfast in the morning so cant comment on that but from what I saw of it set in the dining room it looked to be a good breakfast and start to the day.

Everything was done beautifully. Maybe consider additional vegetarian breakfast options and perhaps an extra towel in the bathroom.

Wonderful views of rolling hills and a gorgeous cozy bedroom. Emma and her mum are charming helpful and informative hosts and even her daughters are hospitable! The bed was extremely comfortable. Lovely bonus to have a guest lounge. Absolutely delicious food in the morning including home-made compote and fabulous eggs. What a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful and historic place. Thank you for allowing us to share your family home.

    All was fine.

The location in the middle of the hills was ideal for our journeys to Ludlow and Hay on Wye. The house was lovely and the bed superb, with fantastic views of the hills. Breakfast was simple, but just what we like muesli, yoghurts, compotes, croissant, toast and jams and with excellent coffee. Emma was charming and very helpful with advice on routes and nearby restaurants.

My only negative comment being that the we might be provided with a glass (for drinking water) and/or tea/coffee making facilities in the room...in an otherwise extremely spacious and well appointed bedroom and en-suite bathroom.

A warm greeting on arrival. We paid extra for a cooked breakfast which was really excellent! and good value for money . Emma also agreed to accommodate our request for an early start to the day so that we could make our first appointment on time so all good! The king size bed was amazing and the tranquility of the location was something else! It was a business stop over for us but this must be an idyllic location for those seeking a peaceful retract or walking holiday!
