Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United Kingdomwish I’d read reviews first, wasn’t made fully aware of the 25+ age restrictions for all adults, assumed it was the lead guest, was told hours before we were due to stay that I hadn’t complied and was no longer entitled to stay or have my £800 back, luckily Booking.com stepped in. We were kept awake with an alarm going off due to homeless people gathering inside the court yard, I didn’t feel that safe being on the ground floor unfortunately. A deposit of £500 for damages was taken, and so felt on edge using anything in the property

United KingdomOn booking I was asked for photo identification that was then not accepted because of file type. having then sent another photo they didn’t respond before I said I was going to check in to the property (3pm) so stood outside I was ring the service desk which was next to useless and made me wait 30+ mins outside the property. then being asked for a £250 security deposit that will be paid back in 15 days is insanity. that was stage 2 that took another 15 mins. stage 3 was to get the code to the lock box which I then opened to find no key. ringing the desk again I was told they’d get hold of the cleaners. 10 mins later I finally get the key. I told them I’d be checking in at 3pm and the checkout is 10. it shouldn’t take 5hrs to clean the size of flat and why ask for checkin time if it isn’t going to ready by that time. fuming to say the least. now I’m £400 out of pocket for the next 15 days

United KingdomThe place is nice, the owners terrible, i accidently booked it and they wouldnt cancel the booking an hour later, they didnt respond to emails or calls from booking.com. The check in process was terrible. There were other people stood in the rain trying to get througg the impossible process. There is no direct number to the property management team only emergency number this should not be allowed.

IndiaContacting the property was difficult. The team was very rude. Actually we arrived early around 12.30 PM and check in was 3.00 PM. The chk in was an horrible experience as they would even share the exact location before 3.00 PM Also code for checking was incorrect for collection of the keys as well as incorrect for deposition of the keys Everything else was good.

United KingdomThe management company didn’t really look after the flat all all, you will find there 2 pieces of cutlery and 2 plates … very little cooking equipment or any equipment to clean the flat. I asked for a second bath towel as I have only received one and Sarah was extremely annoyed when I asked and told me that they left 3 hand towels to cover for the 1 missing bath towel which is very disappointing as we were 2 people and had to share 1 bath towel for 1 week as they fail to deliver. They will only send check in instructions 3 pm on the check in day - so you have to literally wait for 3.00 to receive these which are really unclear (also the wifi details provided were wrong) Lots of hair found in the bathroom floor and dirty oven (I asked if they can come to clean or deliver a broom) they said they cannot deliver a broom but will send the cleaner which never arrived in 1 week I was stay there. I also asked if we could get some extra cutlery as we are 2 and don’t wanna keep washing the same plates / cutlery after a every mean - the answer was NO.
The apartment is very modern and well finished well done to the development company. They allowed me to check out 10.30 am. AEG / oven

AustraliaEverything, well they rented us a bedroom bathroom unit and had actually closed of bedroom/bathroom and sublet it and tryed to make out we didn't want all three rooms when we asked for part refund they refused, they left exactly 2rolls of toilet papper for 4 days for 5 people .4 pillows for hole unit i had to buy some ,and so much more i could write a book .

United Kingdom**Scam Money Grab*ZERO TRANCEPARENCY** Also Upon booking they would need £250 prepay deposit after paying for their non refundable booking. And they don't tell you(misleading ). Very bad service. The booking was non refundable. And wanted to cancel reservation within an hour of making a booking and denied any help.
