I had to ask 3 times because 3 times I did not get the shower to turn on. ( Something with a very stuck handle ) Overall nice shower good pressure. ( option for bath, manual and overhead shower )

Staff extremely friendly fast and helpful. Location is great. 10min from train/bus station , on a side street of main city centre. Clean room.

Pre booked breakfast but was no info that they don't serve pork, so sadsage and bacon tasted funny way too much pepper on food bot worth £15 each. Had to pay the deposit at the reception of £50 wasn't notified on booking.com

From being greeted on arrival until leaving the staff were so welcoming. They were available to answer any queries and all the staff carried out their duties from the cleaners, kitchen staff and reception with a smile on their face. The hotel is very clean and was warm on a cold and wet day. We both slept well. At breakfast the young lad who took our order couldn't do enough for us. We have stayed here before and has been perfect in every way. I do not even check out any other hotels in the area because there is no better.

The cost of the room. The bed was uncomfortable. The room was overly hot. The noise from passing vehicles and drunks wasn't great. Need to get a room not on the main street.

The staff who greeted us and were welcoming. The decor of the hotel was lovely. The room was large and clean. The bed was uncomfortable. The cost for the room was high and didnt include breakfast which was another £15pp, however did look nice but we didnt try it.

Everyone was polite and helpful. The breakfast was very good, choice of continental or cooked breakfast. The location was brilliant for exploring the town centre and also very close to the University for my son who was on a course. I would recommend the Stay Hotel to family and friends if they were staying in the location.

The breakfast room was a tad messy, although we were the last guests of the morning to be served and the staff were friendly and served us quickly. The breakfast quality was good.

The mattress was comfortable but felt like it was dipped in the middle, would’ve liked firmer pillows, the room was very hot, but we were able to turn off the radiator and open a window, plus there was a fan if needed, but we couldn’t do this in the bathroom.

Staff were very welcoming, room was very clean, in the centre of town near the theatre, which was perfect. Breakfast was excellent and was cooked and served by a very happy, welcoming member of staff.

The picture on the wall was so ugly. There was twice a fire alarm which was a false alarm. That just scared me.

The stuff was very friendly. The room was spacious, really nice and clean. The bathroom was good. A cosy room which I really enjoyed. Bed was comfortable too and everything got cleaned / tidied perfect. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The whole hotel is beautiful and cosy. I liked it.

The ‘character’ is that the hotel is an old prison - in consequence I had a very small window too high to see out. But I sleep with my eyes closed so that was fine

We had the choice of this or a characterless chain hotel. This has much more character, was more luxurious and lower cost. And nice staff. Breakfast was good

The price is quite high for Huddersfield and you have to pay extra for anything but the basic tea-making facilities, even for the flapjack or bottles of water that are temptingly placed next to the teabags, so as to seem part of the package unless you carefully read the price list. Similar hotels elsewhere offer these little extras. I was also surprised that I had to go down to reception to request a hairdryer as I would have expected one to be part of the facilities. However, these are minor gripes as the hotel is really rather nice and I would definitely return there.

The location of this hotel is perfect as it is right in the centre of town so I felt safe as a woman travelling alone. The hotel is much more chic than anything else I have tried in Huddersfield and the room was very nice - clean and comfortable, with those little extras like a bathrobe and a fridge bar. The lady at the reception desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly.
