Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSplitting hairs really, but the water pressure in the shower could have been a little better and the mini fridge was a touch noisy, but was easily switched off.
The room and property were very modern and clean, with great light and plenty of space to move around in. Lynne was very helpful and the homemade cake was a nice touch. All the little extras in the room such as biscuits, cotton pads and gorgeous smelling toilettries made our stay very comfortable.

United KingdomMake sure you research the turning as Stag Lodge is not signposted from the main road. There is a sign on the fence as you make the second turn but it is small and easy to miss. Once you know where you are going then it is easy to return to but the first attempt can be nervy.
This is new accommodation available to the market and the standard is very high. The approach road needs a little work but the property looks new and fresh. Our host Lynne was available to meet and greet us and quickly explained the facilities. I think there are three bedrooms available, two on base floor and a deluxe room upstairs. Just behind the front door is a wonderful panoramic window (and why not as it faces Ben Nevis) which gives lovely views of the surrounding countryside. There are comfy chairs and a sofa in this well lit space where guests can read and relax. Breakfast is also served here between 8-9am and the fayre on offer is splendid. Main selection is traditional Scottish or a Continental but whichever you choose the quantity and quality are very good indeed. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and quite spacious. On suite facilities were top quality and all new and fresh and fully stocked with everything you could need. View from the bedroom was spectacular but the window did have strong curtains that ensured privacy and protection from an early dawn. Host Lynne is a native of Spean Bridge and therefore has lots of knowledge and information available and was always willing to chat or answer questions and made our stay very enjoyable indeed. Would highly recommend this property for any couple who want rest and relaxation.

United KingdomYou know a place is good, when you have to think hard to find a criticism. Only thing I might say, is better signage at the main road turn-off would help some, (although a prior look at the location on Google Maps meant I knew where I was going). However, I believe this signage is 'in progress'..
What did we like? Everything about the place! The appearance, the welcome, the beautiful attention to detail. Lynne's friendly welcome. The bedding, the bathroom, the little fridge with very fancy sparkling water and a couple of wee bars of Cadbury's Dairy Milk. Even a wee bottle of fresh milk in the fridge to go with the tea or coffee! When filling in the ratings, I hesitated momentarily between 'smiley face' and 'cheesy grin' for the 'Value for Money' category, but quickly opted for full-blown cheesy grin. Yes, the price was a little higher than most B&Bs in the area, but please let me assure you, it was well worth the money! When booking, my wife thought I was being extravagant; upon arrival, she was as taken with Stag Lodge as much as I had been, when I first read the description and reviews. If your expectation of B&B is a lower cost, budget alternative to a hotel stay (a common British perception), then Stag Lodge probably doesn't fit your bill. However, if your understanding is more in line with the North American idea of B&B, (a unique, if somewhat more expensive alternative to a large 'chain' hotel group), you will understand where Stag Lodge fits in. Not so much a traditional British B&B; more a very small, but very nice 'Boutique Hotel'.

United KingdomI couldn’t find any fault with this accommodation.
This is an absolutely stunning accommodation in a great location with fabulous views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr. A great base for exploring Fort William and the surrounding area. The room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The kingsize bed was very comfortable. Great facilities in the room with a lovely surprise in the mini fridge…chocolate bars. Lynn had even left some home baking in the lounge area for supper. Tasty breakfast with plenty of choices.

United KingdomNewly opened Stag Lodge is simply the best B&B we have stayed in. With little extra touches I would have expected in a 5* hotel never mind a B&B Lynne our very welcoming and friendly host has thought of everything from the bars of chocolate in the mini fridge, nespresso machine, to the gingerbread and fruit laid out to help ourselves to, the beautiful bedrooms done in Harris tweed style, the plush bath mat and the pixie stamped toilet roll ( look it up 😉) the perfectly cooked full Scottish breakfast and that’s before we mention the views - wow!! Can’t rate this place highly enough and will remember it for a long time to come, hopefully we will be back again in the near future.
