We were attending the Burn’s night whisky dinner at Melody’s, so we decided to stay at the hotel for the night. The hotel is a lovely little gem where you wouldn’t expect one. Nicely refurbished rooms and very hospitable staff. Not much cupboard space - OK for us as we were there for the night, but it will be a problem if staying for longer. Breakfast was included in our rate but unfortunately it was a rather poor affair - it reminded me of the breakfast one gets at the US motels. The a la carte menu looked interesting but they wanted to charge us an additional £10 per head if we ordered from it. It’s better to book a room without breakfast and then order from the a la carte menu.

It would have been great to have control over the room temperature rather than having to ask reception to help set the room to a different temperature.

Very well priced for hotel location, decor and environment. Quintessentially English. I would definitely recommend the hotel. It is in a historic building.

Very comfortable country manor-style hotel in a convenient location (for airport and Central London); friendly and helpful staff; and a firm commitment to whisky (although I didn't try the bar). Added emotional bonus if you happen to have a connection to St. Paul's School, which used to occupy the site until the 1960s; it's also where General Montgomery had his HQ and planned the D-Day landings.

Absolutely nothing.

Absolutely beautiful building that made our trip feel special, the Whiskey Bar is great. My favourite hotel I’ve stayed in, in London by far. We didn’t have the breakfast as we prefer hot, cooked breakfasts. Staff were attentive and friendly. Heating was excellent, nice and cosy and our room was the biggest I’ve ever stayed in, in London. Wish we could stay more than one night. Definitely will be returning!

Only thing is noise from upstairs. I can hear someone walking and jumping above my head till the midnight. But luckily I usually sleep after midnight.

The staff could be more warm and engaging but they did there job well.

We would have liked more options for the continental. Also, the staff were nice and competent but they could be a bit more warmer to make a better connection with the guests.

I had to give a £100 authorisation on my credit card when I checked in Evan though I knew I wasn’t going to use the bar or restaurant. Not a major issue but I would have rather k own upfront
