The cosy room was ok apart from the uncomfortable bed, and the linen was far too big for the bed. Especially the duvet cover.

Location was v good, good parking, if the indoor pool had been open it would have been excellent, great outdoor pool and area.

There was nothing not to like, just a little disappointed that the indoor pool was not open as refurbishment had been held up by the bad weather. But they gave you the option of a pass to go to another hotel's indoor pool.

The staff were so lovely and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, the outside pool was clean and 25deg. In fact everything was lovely and clean. Breakfast was fabulous as was dinner. Little things like the shuttle bus taking you to where you wanted to visit and a phone call away to pick you up.

Having to leave our building to go to the main restaurant building, especially when it was raining.

The architecture and history of the building, also the furnishings and rooms were well thought out and of excellent quality. The shuttle bus service was a great addition.

Evening meal was very pricey. Indoor pool was being refurbished.

Shame indoor pool was being renovated , but did not spoil break , the only thing I would fault is we thought the restaurant was overpriced though the food was good , didn’t think it justified the cost.

So very welcoming , lovely place to stay , the breakfast is the best I’ve ever had at any hotels I’ve stayed at including the ritz

squeaky toaster in breakfast room constantly making a noise nowhere to sit with a coffee or evening drink outside in the lawned/garden area, only option to sit on the terrace above reception but can't see the wonderful gardens and views from there

Breakfast was delicious, excellent quality and variety. Nice to have real bread offered and not just supermarket sliced bread Large superking bed in our room was a bonus. Outdoor heated pool - lovely very friendly helpful staff nice tea/coffee tray well stocked in the room room and bathroom very clean, modern new bathroom

We loved the breakfast both for its position and the array of wonderful options. As always we were warmly welcomed and buoyed it being self service. The staff went out of their way to welcome and help us. We loved our walk too!

Only that the indoor swimming pool was not available. However an alternative venue was offered and the weather was glorious so we made use of the outdoor pool.

So much good choice for breakfast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, cooked food, pastries...wonderful! Beds were very comfortable.

Everything! Facilities, the deco, the room, breakfast and the staff - oh the staff were the best thing! Not one person wasn’t helpful or kind. They left a sweet surprise (3 squares of brownie) in the room as it was my wife’s birthday which just added that extra touch. It made her so happy and my god it was delicious! Thank you ❤️

The sink didn't fully drain away and the shower could have been better. Also, the outdoor pool was freezing & the builders woke us up in the morning with their loud chatting just outside our room

All the staff were welcoming & efficient and the gym was great. Our room was comfortable and the mini bar well stocked. Breakfast was outstanding.

Creaky bed, bright room at 5am The Sky tv package PIN is in the hotel folder you need this to enter to watch movies. The reception staff in the morning, just ignored you, no morning or hello, even in plain frontal view chatting with each other.

Check in was fast, we didnt really get most of it but this is the norm for hotels, at least the new receptionist was professional. On entering the room, the receptionist was embarrassed to see very long cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The room, nice and bright with a mini bar and exactly the same bathroom as we have at home. However, the bed was too small for the room size. The Bed also creaked like a horror movie set, every bodily movement on the bed was creaky. Although the mattress was comfy, the frame was noisy. Too bright, yes, strange enough the room needed better curtains as at 5am we were awake with a bright room. Breakfast was good, however, the staff made it great, very friendly and welcoming. Suggestions Change the creaky bed, but i mean replace it, fit blackout blinds or thicker curtains in the rooms so guests can have a sleep in. Carry out a pre-room check for cleanliness and refresh if necessary. The guests also dont need to know how much money your spending on your new pool, 2million does sound excessive to me though. In summary, minor suggestions, however, quality of sleep is vital for guests and all beds, frames should be thoroughly checked beforehand. The village is about a 20 minute walk, however, since some parts your walking on the road that is just enough for one car, then not recommended to go walking in the evening especially when they cant see you.

The actual place is better than the pictures, which is a nice surprise!

The breakfast is incredible, not only a full buffet but a cooked-to-order menu as well. Really stellar service, and the hosts should get an A+ for making us feel so cared for and welcome!
