The duvet on the single bed was not warm enough for me (I feel the cold and it was February!) so more spare blankets would be good.

We stayed at St Margarets on a mini break to see family in Portobello. The cottage is much bigger than it looks from the outside, very comfortable and super cosy. The kitchen is well equipped, we loved the Denby and Le Creuset touches !! Location was great , about a 15min walk to the beach and the centre of portobello with its shops and cafes. Local Coop a 2 min walk away at the top of the road. We loved the super welcome pack on arrival, it was very much appreciated thank you.

Absolutely nothing!!!

The owner went above and beyond to help us. I forgot my license in the US and had to have it 48 hr shipped. The owner was so sweet and hospitable she can back early from her vacation to help out. Cottage was beautiful. Close to the bus station. Take to 124 to city center.

The cottage was a perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh and Portobello, with good access to buses. The house itself was clean, comfortable, cosy and very well equipped. The owner got in touch and offered a high chair and bed guard which were a great help to us. Would happily book again.

There was no long mirror at all in the property, tea coffee and milk were supplied but no sugar. The TV in the lounge was way too small for the size of the room and the distance the sofas were from it, I had to get my long distance driving glasses in order to watch it. It would have been nice if there was a DVD player provided in order to watch something other than Freeview in the evenings. The recycling bags that we were asked to used were quite laborious and got in the way in the kitchen, it might be a good idea to get a recycling bin put in the kitchen instead of separate stand alone bags.

It was very clean inside, almost as if it hadn’t been used before. It was very cosy and warm, in a great location. The property was finished to a nice standard with the kitchen and bathroom fixtures, the owners went to some effort to decorate it for Christmas for us which was lovely.

Great location, lovely cottage friendly owners. All done to high standard, towels fluffy and strong shower. We had a lovely few days exploring Edinburgh great base and near to Portobello and local shops with easy bus into city so didn't use car whilst staying. Thanks

Only a few miles from the city centre. It was a great location, shop, bus round the corner, a 15 min walk to the beach at Portobello. Which is a lovely beach with some nice places to eat. There are lots of buses with the 44 running every 10 mins and a family all day tickets for the use on buses and trams at £9.50. Edinburgh castle was amazing and would recommended Auld Reeke tours, Darren on the vaults tour was brilliant!! Also Kauai for amazing fresh salad, smoothies & wraps. The cottage itself was beautiful, modern yet homely and spotlessly clean. The owners really care about keeping this cottage to a high standard. Some lovely touches on arrival. When emailing the owner, nothing too much trouble and quick response. The shower was immense!! I could stay in that all day! Every amenity has been thought of and there is even a fancy coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and very fluffy towels. The garden was lovely with lots of chairs to sit in in the evening with a glass of wine with pretty fairy lights coming on at dusk. Great base to for the city, we hardly used the car. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
