Dining room on Saturday was set up for a full breakfast but found cereal ,milk ,fruit juice and a toaster .No bread or hot drink facilities though . No mention of no cooked breakfast as per Friday .

A dog barking on arrival, and for a period afterwards, and again in the morning; the strong smell of cooking in the room; the noise when using the water or flushing the toilet in the bathroom sounded like it would wake all in the building - perhaps due to the pump (faulty)?; mildew surrounding shower area; ripped linoleum on the bathroom floor; very worn towels, so I didn't use the shower but used my own towels and wetwipes; TV was very small and limited reception and had to be angled so it was hard to view; tired decor; pillow smelt so I never used it; I didn't sleep in the bed but lay on top of it; didn't stay for breakfast - the dog was barking in the eating area. For such a small room I have so many complaints but a bit of TLC could sort this out. I'm sure it could be a nice establishment - but perhaps Covid has paid a high price here. Check-in/check-out staff were very pleasant.

Lovely breakfast, fantastic staff, clean rooms, we were made to feel very welcome. Great local pub also with yummy pub lunches! Always a good sign when tables are reserved and to meet people at breakfast that have come back for another stay.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The breakfast was all that was expected and more. Multiple choices made it perfect. The staff was excellent at meeting all of our needs. They were more than friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect for our needs with access to the beach and short distances to multiple castles and other sites.

Due to staffing levels, breakfast was a little rushed for me, but that is not a criticism of the hotel, just what I experienced on the day.

Very welcoming staff. Showed to the room itself and everything explained. Excellent dinner and lovely breakfast. Plenty of parking on arrival.

The plumbing was a little noisy.

I stayed for 6 nights and ate in all the time. The food was very good, the staff friendly, efficient and helpful. My room was a good size any had a modern en suite. All at a very good price.

Nothing was too much work for the staff , everyone was fantastic. Had evening meal and breakfast and the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Great room with comfy beds and very quiet for a great night's sleep.

Checkin was a little concerning as one computer didn't have my reservation, but the staff quickly checked another computer, found me and then took me to my room. All good in the end and hardly an issue.

The staff were very friendly upon arrival, though I arrived very late and the party in the bar was in full swing. After a small hiccup of booking reservations showing on the screen I was shown my room and told to pop back down if I wanted. I duly did and chatted to a few folks who were enjoying their evening. Friendly staff. I was only resting my head here so I cannot say much more than I was dead tired, fell asleep quickly and rose early and left, everything was great. As I was leaving early I was unable to have the breakfast, but to my surprise, when I opened the door in the morning a lovely parcel of sandwiches, crisps and a soda were all ready and waiting for me. Thank you for that attention to detail. It meant a lot on my tight schedule. I was given some great advice by the barman to visit the amazing views over St Cyrus Beach and Nature Reserve which I took a moment to enjoy and recommend for anyone staying. It is literally down the road and there is a path leading down (very steep) to the beach below. What a coast line! Thank you for having me.

No issues, very accommodating

Perfect overnight stay for a wee break away, gorgeous walks along the beach. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Amended breakfast according to my dietary requirements with no issues (veggie and dairy free). Would visit again 😊
