I booked a suite in December for travel in January and asked specifically not to be placed in the suite with the red walls which had rather old decor I asked for the Eden mill suite and on arrival we were given the suite I asked not to have so very disappointed with that at £240 a night and booking in advance I should have been accommodated with my request.

Easy walking distance to the town. Friendly and attentive staff. Good choice of breakfast options.

Breakfast a touch pricey but it’s worth it to sit in elegant bistro with great ocean views and attentive service.

Elegant comfortable accommodations, gracious service. Right along the waterfront, breakfast room has ocean views. Easy walking distance to the beach (of Chariots of Fire fame), shops and restaurants, castle and cathedral ruins, museums and small aquarium. Good value considering high quality of amenities and fabulous location.

I would have liked a small fridge in the room for drinks, and also a TV with Netflix on - however these would have just been a nice extra

Having to access hotel via steps to front door. Because of work being carried out, scaffolding did not allow blue badge parking at rear for one of our party with limited mobility. Also noises caused by dogs being left alone in rooms, barking & whining, howling on 2nd night and again the morning of our departure

Nothing not to like!

The property was lovely and cosy with fantastic views over the bay. The best part of the hotel without a doubt are the staff. They are the friendliest most accommodating staff I’ve ever come across.

I've stayed at many Hotel du Vins over the years, always loved them, but this was by far my best experience. Every member of staff was fantastic - special mention to Lucy on reception - and nothing was too much trouble, the food was phenomenal, drinks perfect and we were just gutted to leave! Well done team - you should be very proud of what you do ❤️

Service was excellent. The room given on Christmas Day exceeded our expectations. The suite - originally given to our grandson on his own - was great for the all the family meeting up for games etc. Earlier glitches were fixed by Hotel Du Vin

Our room was on the third floor and felt like we were in the attic space. I’m not exactly a giant but I struggled to navigate round the bed without hitting my head on the sloping ceiling. The room was very dark aswell, I feel like rooms of that standard maybe shouldn’t command the same price tag.

We’ve been before, it’s modern where it needs to be but classically styled where suited. Very well situated for access to the town or the beach.

Rooms were quite dark - my wife could not easily do make-up etc. No dressing gowns We were offered the option of not having the room cleaned (we stayed two nights) - but we would not take that up again as it meant that on the second night we had no water, no clean cups and no tea ! Doing this to save the environement by not washing towels etc seems a good idea, but the basics need to be attended to.

I thought the hotel was very stylishly designed. As an upholstery I loved the fabrics that were used. Maybe change the headboard fabrics? All the does look Good and is practical
