We did not enjoy sharing the breakfast room with a party of ten people who did not consider us at all and were very noisy. It would have been better to stagger breakfast times so we did not have to. Share the room with themSimilarly in the evening they came into the lounge with bags of tins of beer and snacks. Despite a sign under the TV, they were noisy and inconsiderate.

Skerrols House provides a warm welcome for the traveller. It is incredibly well run by Thomas who is a superb host and whose wife cooks an excellent breakfast. Set in peaceful countryside with lovely views. Our bedroom had views across the countryside, comfy beds and plenty of space to settle in happily. A fabulous place to stay and explore the beautiful Isle of Islay.

The beds were amazing. The rooms were lovely with a nice common living area. The breakfast was spectacular with the best breakfasts we had on our entire 14 day trip. We opted for their packed lunch one day and it was also wonderful. It was a beautiful quiet place to return to each day after sightseeing on Islay. A magnificent respite from town chaos. We slept deeply every night. The staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Thomas resolved a room issue for us, which eliminated our need to change rooms. They did everything possible to make our stay exceptional and it certainly was!

Absolutely nothing

The beds were amazing, the breakfast was outstanding. The facility was wonderful with the most accommodating staff. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. It was a fantastic place to return to at the end of the day. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thomas was wonderful.

This property exceeded my expectations. If you want to be in walking distance of the pubs and towns, you will have to stay in town. There is one restaurant you can walk to for dinner.

This is a modern farmhouse setting out in the middle of some fields. Very peaceful and relaxing. Great for a quiet walk in the country after a long day. The rooms are very modern and clean with towel warmers too. Breakfast was outstanding, you won't go away hungry.

Liked everything.

The location is very quiet, in the middle of a beautiful landscape. Great for a nice morning walk. Still, within a short drive you can find restaurants, distilleries etc. Thomas is a very friendly and welcoming host. Rooms are great, spacious, newly renovated. Breakfast ist awesome! Try the scrambled eggs any version. Very nice garden to sit with a beer or for kids to play. Will come again any time we’ll have the chance. My whole family was very happy here.

Price is high, but worth every single pound. Trust me!

This was the absolute best placed we stayed on our entire trip. And now one of my favorites ever. Thomas was amazing at communicating, making you feel welcomes, cooked an amazing breakfast and responded to our every request. Then there are the beautiful and impeccably kept accommodations. Stay here once and you'll want to return to Islay just to stay here again. And be sure to visit the Islay Woolen Mill nearby, a true classic. If I could give this more than a 10 rating, I would.

I like everything about the hotel. But it might not be very convenient if you have small children since there are no restaurants nearby.

Guest house manager was very friendly and he accommodated anything for us. The location was exceptional. So peaceful. The best sleep I ever had. I would definitely come back again with my family next time!

We loved everything. The only thing I could think of is a small fan in the room, but it was abnormally warm, so I don’t think it would normally be needed.

The breakfasts were amazing. Thomas was a wonderful hosts and had so much info about where to go on the island. The room was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. The location is central to everything.

Breakfast was special, served directly by the chef. The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful countryside. It is difficult to access by bus, but in return you can enjoy the typical Scottish natural beauty.

The property was cozy, comfy, and clean. The host of the house, Thomas, was very friendly, positive, and welcoming. He made us feel like we were at home. The breakfast was very delicious (the best one during our entire 2 weeks trip around Europe).
