Lovely spacious apartment, immaculate and sylishly furnished, kitchen had everything you need. Askrigg is a beautiful village, plenty of good quality pubs, parking was a bonus. Will definitely be back.

I couldn't park when I arrived, and I had to return later. Even the car park at the top of the village was full. I feel bad listing this here, as not the fault of the owners, but this is a problem in Askrigg generally.

The Darrowby Studio was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. It was decorated in beautiful taste and sympathetic to the era. It wasn’t noisy for an apartment, and at night, I could hear the bleating of lambs in the distance. James Herriot's vintage car outside is a fun touch.

I don't recall any thing we didn't like

The owners provided me with all the details a few days ahead of my trip. Keys locations and wifi password etc. Found car parking nearby the church or up the road in the car park. We stayed in Tristan studio. Lovely room, warm and clean with a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and great size TV with Netflix. The kitchen stocked the basic essentials. The bathroom had underfloor heating and shower / bath functioned, the hand, shower, lotions were a treat and smelt wonderful . The studio was stylish, luxury and unique. The bedroom view was amazing when we got up. Small village and lovely location. A few waterfalls nearby with fantastic views. Pubs nearby with a small cafe opposite to the accommodation.

Broken tap in bathroom. Broken blind which was bodged. The bags and bags of laundry that were left in the hallway. Unsure if they were clean or not - that was irrelevant. It looked very unkempt.

It is in a beautiful village, prime location. The association with ‘All creatures great and small’.

Bathroom very small and a non slip bath mat and a little more storage space for Bathroom items would have been much appreciated.

Absolutely nothing

My wife travelled alone with our two dogs as I was taken into hospital. The property and location far exceeded her expectations. The scenery and walks are exceptional. We are hoping to return as soon as possible when I am ok. The location is perfect for dogs.

Location was excellent and parking so easy. Well equipped apartment with lovely views. Fab bathroom and comfy bed. Bottle of prosecco in the fridge was a lovely touch (it was my wife's birthday). Will definitely be back.

A shelf in the bathroom would be a bit more practical, and a small sofa could fit in. It's a generous space.

Everything was perfect

It is beautiful. The location, the history and nostalgia, the decor and the facilities are all amazing. Check in/out was very simple and the treats in the room were an added bonus. Perfect place for an anniversary weekend away and location for the Yorkshire Three Peaks

The only thing I could mention was that the heating was on full when we arrived and I love being warm but it was overbearingly hot, I opened the window and turn the radiators off but the window banged close on its own so i didn’t want to risk opening it again Incase it shattered the glass. Maybe just need the window fixing so it stays open.

Ideal location in the Yorkshire dales and in a lovely village. The decor is beautiful and everything was spotless clean.

The room/bathroom both got quite hot & no method of turning down the heat (the window can be opened). The iron could have been better.

Great location, beautiful building and decor within the room. Great facilities and a really nice touch of having coffee/tea/milk available on arrival along with a bottle of prosecco. Would definitely recommend.
