Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Location was excellent, opposite Shepherds Bush Market, <5mins from Shepherds Bush over-/underground and Westfield shopping mall. Good choice of restaurants close by plus cinema. Small hotel but well appointed. Free WiFi. Fully stocked bar with good choice of drinks. Very clean. Staff super friendly and helpful - on their advice downloaded Citymapper app which was really helpful in understanding how to move around.

AustraliaSome of the fittings in the bathroom are rusted, giving things a rather dated look even though they were obviously clean. There were at times odd smells which may have been coming through the windows. The showers are quite tiny with a tight door.
The staff were amazing. They went out of their way to help and be friendly. The location is literally right next to Shepherd's Bush Market tube station which makes it very easy to get around. Heaps of eateries and shops close by, including a 24-hour-shop right next door.

United KingdomThe gate was a touch confusing, could have done with a clearer sign to point out which part was for pedestrian access. It was also quite hard to keep the room cool, but being set back from the road meant even having the window open it wasn't loud.
Fantastic location, easy access to multiple underground lines and the overground as well. Lots of great places to eat in the area too. Hotel itself was surprisingly quiet considering proximity to the train station, set back from the road and gated so felt comfortable and safe.

United KingdomYou must have photo ID when you check in. Luckily I had just bought a rail card and had that, because I've never needed ID in UK before, so didn't think to take any! I would have to be really picky to complain about anything else because of the great value of this hotel.
For the price we paid I thought the room was a good size, nothing is big in London unless you spend a fortune. The room was spotlessly clean. Everything worked as it should. The location next to the tube station was very handy too. Opposite Shepherds Bush market.
